Twin Falls School District Policy 4140, Visitors in Schools, explains the process for visiting while school is in session. The policy specifically states,

"An individual who wishes to visit a classroom during instructional time may only do so with prior approval from the building administrator and classroom teacher. Parents/guardians of District students shall have reasonable access to observe all school activities during school hours in which the child is enrolled, provided they have received prior permission. Parents/guardians who are otherwise legally prohibited from such access shall not be granted permission. Such visits shall not be permitted if their occurrence, duration, frequency, or conduct on campus interferes with the delivery of instruction or disrupts the normal school environment."

We love having parents involved at school - volunteering in the classroom, participating in activities, leading art lessons and more. To ensure safety of our students and your children, we ask that all parents check-in at the office with your state issued identification and receive a badge/sticker indicating you have been check-in. This badge/sticker should be visible to all staff and students while on campus.

Reminder: school Starts at 8:00 am and breakfast is served at 7:30 am. Students need to be eating by 7:45 am so they are not tardy.

We are so thankful to have such an amazing playground at Sawtooth. Did you know that we teach our students, your children, playground expectations throughout the year? We believe it is important for students to have a clear understanding of the expectations in any environment/area within our school. Our classroom teachers regularly instruction students on appropriate behaviors and playground etiquette, including how to use our playground equipment.

Parents, we need your help. When coming to school to eat lunch, please check-in at the office with your driver's license. We will give you a sticker to wear while visiting. If you plan to play with your students on the playground, a background check must be completed and cleared prior. As the weather is starting to get cold and snowy, snow boots are becoming a regular shoe item. Please help your student remember to wear tennis shoes on PE day! On snowy and PE days, remind them to put a pair of tennis shoes in their backpacks. This helps save our floors from damage and makes it easier for students to run and participate in activities. We appreciate your support!

Thank you parents and families for continuing to verify absences when your student is gone. If your student is gone for an appointment, please bring in a medical note, so those absences can be marked accordingly. We continue to have our monthly attendance incentive for students who have no unverified absences, and no more than 3 tardies in the previous month. Activities for Funday Monday vary but include art, dance parties, and BINGO. It is a great time for students and staff to celebrate our attendance efforts.

Kindergarten students will be dismissed with families after the program. All other students will be dismissed at 12:45.

Thank you so very much to all our parents, students, and staff for the generous contributions during our National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Food/Hygiene Drive. Last year we collected 850 items to be contributed to the food pantries at Twin Falls School District locations. This year, we have collected over 3,600 items!!

Another huge THANK YOU to our Sawtooth families and staff for the support during the Butter Braids sale! The portion of sales earned by our school was over $6,000.00. Winners for top sales will be announced before Christmas vacation.
