The Buddy Program has become a staple here at Jacobson. And while it certainly makes for good photos, the goals of the program go much deeper — it builds confidence in students and strengthens school community.
Fourth grader Grace says "It's important that they see the older kids showing kindness to them. Plus, I like to tell my buddy you can do anything in this world."
The activities we do with buddies helps us show them how to be a good learner and a good student.

SPACE EXPLORERS REGISTRATION EXTENDED
We are excited to get another year of Space Explorer Club going starting September 17th. The SEC will meet once a month on Tuesdays during your child's lunch/recess time (grade 1-6), and then once a week (grade 2-6) starting in February for the rocket build. This program is a lot of fun, and the kids really enjoy participating in the activities- we will have some new activities as well for all grade levels!
If your child is interested in joining, we must have registration completed by September 8th, so we can have an idea of what supplies and rockets need to be ordered. We had a lot of kids wanting to join after the first or second session, and it made it difficult with organizing rocket materials to order. Below is the QR code to sign your child up and volunteer. The SEC is ran by parent volunteers in 1st-3rd grades, with collaboration with Northrup Grumman engineers for grades 4-6th. In order for this program to fly, we need your help!
