The Viking Culture this year is to "Win the Day". We challenge all students and staff to pick 1 goal each day to accomplish. When you have succeeded with that 1 goal, you have "Won the Day!"

Here are a few ways to "Win the Day"

• "Flip the Script" on struggles/challenges and make them successes!
• Follow "Kaizen" - strive for continuous improvement each day!
• "Be Kind" - smile, say hello, look out for your fellow vikings! Remember - everyone is going through a battle we may not know.. Be Kind Always!

Congratulations to Mrs. McKee for being recognized by the HR Department as OUSD's "You've Got the EDGE" Outstanding Customer Service Employee of the Month! Mrs. Mckee works as Cerro Villa Sr. Staff Clerk in the front office! Mrs. McKee will be recognized at the next Board Meeting. Congratulations!

In observance of Washington and Lincoln's Birthdays, Friday February 14th and Monday February 17th are Holidays - No School!

In association with American Heart Challenge - Cerro Villa is celebrating ❤️February Spirit Week ❤️! Check out the theme for each day! Let's see which homerooms have the most students participating each day!

Themes:

• Monday - "Spread the LOVE", wear Red or Pink
• Tuesday- "We LOVE Adam Sandler", dress like Sandler does
• Wednesday - "Buddy Up, We LOVE friendships", dress like a friend
• Thursday- "We LOVE to be comfy", pajama day
• Friday - NO SCHOOL

*School Uniform policy still applies to theme spirit days, meaning school appropriate tops, pants, shoes.

*Students not participating in the theme spirit attire must be in CV Uniform attire.

The American Heart Challenge program kicks off on Monday and will run through February 18th! To join our school team, visit http://www2.heart.org/goto/cerrovilla . Students can raise awareness and funds for congenital heart defects, nutrition security, CPR training, mental well-being, and more as we work to end heart disease and stroke. Along the way, students will meet some of the kids they’re helping while learning about mind and body health.

CV's College and Career Speaker Day will be held on Tuesday, March 4th. Cerro Villa is looking for parents, community members, and Alumni who would like to share their college/career experiences with CV students. Currently, many students have a well-known and insecure default password which can be guessed by other students or bad actors. Technology Services is asking parents to encourage or work with their children to set a new password. Password changes typically synchronize to dozens of applications in a few minutes. The password reset icon is in the MyOUSD Dashboard for all staff and students.
