Beall Brief
Week of June 10
Reminder: Last Day of School is June 13; Early Dismissal
Are you leaving Beall?
2024-25 Important Reminder: It is important for office staff to know if you are not planning to return to Beall next year (K-4) or if you are a fifth grader going to a middle school program other than Julius West Middle School. Please complete this form if you will be leaving Beall or if you have a current 5th grader who will not be attending JW. If your 5th grader attends Beall on a Change of School Assignment (COSA), or transfer, you must apply for another COSA in order to attend JW. All students are expected to return to their homeschools unless they have approval to remain in a different feeder school.
Click here to complete the form notifying us of your plan to change schools next year.
Spotlight: Kudos!
We would like to thank Ms. Cullum, Mrs. Drake, Mrs. Kanowith and Mr. Healy for spotlighting our fine arts programs. Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade students for outstanding Spring Concerts. Last week’s celebrations featured student art work displayed throughout the building for the Art Showcase, folk dancing from around the world and line dancing! Thank you to all of the parents who joined us for the fun. Additional thank you to all of the other staff and volunteers who helped to make the fine arts celebrations a successful experience for our Dragons.
LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL REMINDERS
- Please be sure to return all materials to the media center as soon as possible. Mrs. Poole and Ms. Dang will be sending out reminders to students with overdue or lost materials. We need your support in keeping our media collection viable for years to come.
- Please make sure you resolve any outstanding financial obligations with the cafeteria.
- Have your child visit the lost and found. We have many jackets, hats, and other articles of clothing that have been collected since February. Unclaimed items will be donated to a local organization after school ends.
- Please inform the office if your child will not be returning to Beall in the fall. (See link above.) This information is important as we monitor our staffing allocations and enrollment throughout the summer.
Final Words and Farewell
As we approach our final days of the school year, we want to thank you for the support that we have received throughout the school year. We know that the past couple of years have been difficult for many, but we are so proud of our community of learners. We recognize that we will have time this summer to review our data, identify the challenges that need to be addressed, but also celebrate the progress students have made. We will make sure that we build on our successes and strategically plan for meaningful improvement. We appreciate your trust and partnership in the learning experience.
There are many ways to keep your children busy and excited about learning. Visit museums, take a nature walk, highlight landmarks on a road trip. Read with your child, make frequent trips to the library for new books, and encourage them to keep their brains busy. Most of all, help your child to have a relaxing and enjoyable summer with magical experiences!
This time of year tends to provide a range of emotions from excitement to sadness to anxiousness. We know students (and staff) are ready for the approaching summer break. While many students are excited about the change to a new grade level, some are a little more apprehensive about the unknown. We encourage you to take a few minutes to speak with your child and reinforce the exciting possibilities that the summer and new school year have to offer. We hope you have a wonderful summer. We look forward to seeing all of our returning students , and welcoming some new ones, when we return in August!
