SHARK SHOUTOUTS
- A big Shark Shout Out to Ninth grader, Tessa Gingras!!! Tessa joined me in representing our Animal Welfare Club at the Harwich Conservation Trust's annual "Walk and Wag." This event raises money for The Sampson Fund which is a wonderful organization that helps pet owners pay their vet bills. We met lots of wonderful dogs last Saturday, and Tessa deserves recognition for helping with the "Confidence Course." - Ms. Lisa Forte-Doyle
A message from Mrs. Ferro on her upcoming retirement:
It’s said that the days are long but the years are short –
and it’s been 8 short years for me here at MRHS!
Having worked in public school systems for almost 30 years,
it’s time for me to retire come the end of June.
♥️
To those I’ve worked with through the years;
if we shared a conversation, a meal, an event, a phone call, a ride to work, an email,
or a time that you remember fondly,
I THANK YOU
for that shared moment.
♥️
If you are a student;
who has invited me into your world, smiled at me, or spoken kindly to me,
made me laugh, shared a thought, a photo, or otherwise made my day,
those times are precious to me, and
I THANK YOU!
♥️
If you are a parent, visitor, or community member
whose path has crossed mine;
I enjoy how you shared your students with me, laughed with me, cried with me,
treated me (with treats!), confided in me,
or if you simply had a polite exchange with me,
I appreciate you and
I THANK YOU!
♥️
Seeing and serving you from the front office at MRHS has been my pleasure.
The saying goes that you never know what someone else is going through,
but know that a sincere compliment or friendly smile truly can brighten someone's day;
as you have mine.
♥️
Though no one knows what the future holds, I look forward to seeing you around the sandbar –
should we encounter one another outside of MRHS,
please remember, to always "lead with your name!"
And for those who choose to keep in touch;
I THANK YOU
for that too!
Congratulations on a successful fundraiser by Red Right Return
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate seniors Max Weinberg and Colin Moore on their entrepreneurial endeavors. Colin and Max partnered with classmate, Anna Bianco to brand their own business and title their company, Red Right Return. Under the guidance of Career Education Coordinator, Cheri Armstrong, Colin, Max, and Anna planned, implemented, and executed their first Dream Day 5K and FINtastic Fun Fair. All profits from their events will be donated to Dream Day on Cape Cod, a free summer camp for children with chronic illnesses and their families. -Principal Jennifer Police

AP classes visited by Michael Ryan
Students from both the AP US Government and Politics and US Government classes were visited on Friday, May 12th by Michael Ryan, who specializes in outreach for the Massachusetts Office of the Jury Commissioner. Mr. Ryan was an engaging speaker who spoke about the importance of jury duty. Students also held a brief mock jury selection and trial. All but one of the students were seniors, and will be graduating soon!
National Chinese Honor Society honors graduating seniors
Tuesday afternoon, the Chinese National Honors Society honored our graduating seniors with a ceremony featuring homemade Chengdu-style traditional food and fun! Seniors Olivia Sims, Elizabeth Bruce, Orla Delaney, Kylie Bennett, Elizabeth Ryan, and Samantha Goode were all awarded a CNHS cord for graduation. Congratulations to them and all of their hard work over the past five years; they will be missed!
Senior Edrian Wright honored with award
Monomoy Regional High School Senior Edrian Wright was selected by the high school’s administration to receive the 2023 NSDC Award for Academic Growth and Student Leadership in Learning.
The National School Development Council is a network of regional school study councils that supports excellence, equity and continuous educational improvement. The NSDC network assists hundreds of schools and school districts nationwide in becoming high-performance organizations. The regional affiliation is the New England School Development Council (NESDEC).
This award is presented to high school seniors who have consistently pursued a high level of academic effort, and who have also served as positive role models for the student body. Recipients of the award exemplify admirable character and accomplishment.
In presenting this award, Superintendent Scott Carpenter shared the following excerpts from the recommendation from Edrian’s counselor:
Edrian is a model of perseverance and resilience and possesses a maturity far beyond his years. He is an intelligent student and an ultra-talented musician, who possesses a caring and helping spirit. When you meet Edrian, you see a young man who is self-driven to improve his own life and that of others through tremendous dedication and perseverance. He has fantastic skills in communication, both spoken and written. He has perfected these skills through our drama club and as a published author in magazines. He thrives in group activities and has often gravitated to a leadership role. He is strong in all academic areas and this ability was recognized recently as he earned Adams Scholar status for stellar performance on the MCAS. He is a standout musician and truly shines on stage with his trombone. Edrian has been a local and regional music festival participant and he is proud of his experience at the All-State music festival this year. Edrian is the type of talented young man competitive colleges are seeking. I believe in, admire, and respect Edrian. Be on the lookout, here comes Edrian Wright!
Edrian was presented with the award at the School Committee meeting on May 11, 2023.

We appreciate the hard work the Family Pantry does every day to help families with food and clothing insecurity and know that this donation will be put to good use. Thanks.
