March Edition
Valentine's Sing Along: Thank you very much families for joining our after school program to sing with our students on Valentine's Day. It was wonderful to see everyone singing together.
Parent Meetings: We are already preparing for the 25/26 school year and we would like to hear from parents.
- Each after school program will hold an in- person feedback meeting for parents. Please keep an eye out for announcements, parent square, or flyers inviting you to attend this meeting.
- Extended Learning Virtual Meeting is March 12 at 6:30 for all parents who's child attended any of our programing to meet and share ideas for our 25/26 programming. Meeting Link

Steam Showcase and Invention Convention/Tech Challenge: Save the date- Saturday, March 15 is the annual Steam Showcase hosted at Hartnell. This year many students from the after school program will be attending the Steam Showcase to participate in the Invention Convention and be judged for the opportunity to advance to the California Invention Convention Competition in Sacramento, California. We are so excited to see all the wonderful Inventions students have created.
Sports: Our basketball season has officially come to a close. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed their support by attending our Friday games and cheering on our student athletes, it truly made a difference!
Up next, we’re kicking off soccer season, and our students are eagerly looking forward to hitting the field. If your child is planning to participate in our sports league, please ensure they submit a completed permission slip and code of conduct. We can’t wait for another great season ahead! ⚽
If you’re planning to attend any of our Friday games, please remember that it’s important to set a positive example for our students by displaying good sportsmanship and cheering for both teams. Parents who will be joining us at the games are required to complete and submit a Parent Code of Conduct form, which should be turned in to our after school program staff.
Field Trip: Sunday, March 2 was our Finding Nemo, theater experience. It was a wonderful opportunity for some of our students to attend the Pacific Repertory Theater in Carmel.
Coming Soon: Saturday, May 17 we will be hosting our Tech Field Trips. Flyers and sign-ups will post after Spring Break. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
Spring Intersession: March 24 to 28, Ag- Knowledge "Planting idea and growing a futures" will focus on technology in agriculture and include sports, art, performing arts and more. Families can help Extended Learning by signing up early, so we can accurately plan for the number of students attending.
25/26 After School Program: If your child is not already involved in after school and you would like them to join for the 25/26 school year the 25/26 After School Program Enrollment will open March 7. Be the first ones to save a space for the 25/26 school year. ParentSquare sign-ups will only work for students currently enrolled in Salinas City Elementary School District. If your child will be starting school for the first time in the fall, ParentSquare enrollment will be available in August or call Extended Learning for more information (831) 784-2216.
