Back to School at NF

On behalf of the phenomenal NF staff, welcome back to our families in grades 1-4, and a special warm greeting to our new kindergarten families, (Class of 2036). As of today, there are approximately (84) new kindergarten students, including some Rushwood families who have their child enrolled in part-time kindergarten. We are excited to start the new year and guide your child(ren) in their educational journey. The main office is officially open, and we stand ready to assist anyone with answers, clarifications, or support. Feel free to call us at (330) 467-2010.

Final Forms to be Completed

The Nordonia Hills City School District has launched a new software program for collecting vital information about your child and your emergency contacts. The staff is working with the company, Final Forms, to streamline the overall registration and enrollment process. Families can access this information at the following link: https://www.nordoniaschools.org/. This annual process of completing forms is vital to the safety and security of your child. PLEASE COMPLETE THIS TASK ASAP. One lucky family who has all their paperwork turned in by Friday, August 11th will have the ability to select their child's teacher for this year. Forms must be completed by this date to qualify.

Schools Begin with a Soft Start

For the last several years, the district has started each academic year with what is commonly referred to as a ''soft start." In grades 1-4, students with the last names A - K will begin classes on Thursday, August 24th. Students with the last names L - Z will start on Friday, August 25th. If you have children in grades 5-12 please follow the schedule posted by your child's respective schools. Kindergarten families have a different schedule that was mailed both in early June, and emailed to all families earlier this week. (All families should double check the school's website for more information).


Official School Hours for Students: 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

  • Friday, August 25, Student Day for Last Names L - Z Only
  • Remember, Kindergarten Students Follow a Separate Schedule

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Class Assignments: Letters indicating your child's class assignment will be mailed during the week of August 14th. If you follow me on Twitter: @NFSquirePride, I will post the exact time the letters were dropped off at the US mail center. Electronic school forms should be completed prior to August 14th.


  • Before/After Child Care: The local area YMCA will once again host both before and after school child care. Each elementary school will host the program in their building. Representatives will be available at the "Greet, Meet, and Supply Drop Off" program. Please contact the YMCA directly for further information.


  • Roof Repairs: In early June, construction of a new roof area started. Crews have been present all summer making adaptations. Everyone is excited about these repairs. Water buckets in the classroom will be a thing of the past. Thanks to the BOE and the greater Nordonia community for supporting this much needed project.


  • School Supplies: Please check out the main district website for updated school supply lists. Local retailers should also have lists available at their specific location.


  • Attendance Line: The attendance line is available (24) hours a day. Please call your children off before 9:00 a.m. on a school day. The phone number is: 330-908-6160 for any Nordonia student.
