Message from Mr. Kingery
Dear Art Rutkin Elementary Families,
This has been a great first week of school with our 1st-5th graders. We are so happy to have our kindergarteners start on Monday, Sept. 9th. This newsletter has some important reminders as we get ready for all grades to be on campus each day starting Monday. We will continue to have signs and safety cones in the parking lot areas to help everyone get used to how arrival and dismissal will work. We ask that everyone be patient, and take extra care when looking out for students and adults in the parking lots. Help us keep everyone safe and follow these arrival - dismissal directions. Please use the crosswalk to go to designated parking spots. We have had quite a few parents and students walking between cars in our car line. This is a serious safety concern. We want everyone to get home safely. Please use the sidewalks and crosswalk to get to parking spaces.
Parent drop-off and Pick up Reminders:
Student drop-off and pick up is in the lower parking lot only
Buses only in the upper parking lot during arrival and dismissal
Stay in your vehicle, or use designated parking spots.
Use visor car signs to show your child’s name when you are picking up at the end of the day
Stay by the curb while dropping off and picking up students
Please do not pull out and try to pass the line
Please drop students off on the curb side from your vehicles only
Please remind your child to meet friends by the bike rack if they are walking home together
Drive slowly on campus at all times. Be patient. Safety first.
Use the designated crosswalk in our parking lot to go to parking spots
Kindergarten parents and guardians only may walk their child to class on Sept. 9th
Kindergarten will start regular routines on their 2nd day of school
Sept. 10th - Kindergarten parents say good-byes to students outside
We have staff and student leaders ready to help them get to class after entering the front doors
8:00 AM - Sept. 9 enjoy coffee with the principal in the library (all Kinder - 5th grade parents are welcome)
Please join us for our first PSO meeting on Monday, Sept. 9th at 6:00 PM. We will be discussing the upcoming fun run, and upcoming fall events. You are welcome to join in person or virtually. This will be a great opportunity for hearing important news about school and upcoming events. We are looking forward to starting week two on Monday. Thank you to everyone for a great first week of school. The Rams are rolling along!
With Gratitude,
Mr. Jamie Kingery
Principal

ParentSquare Information
ParentSquare, the new communication platform, allows parents and guardians in the Tigard-Tualatin School District to receive all communications from the district, schools, classrooms, and activity groups in one unified app and service.
Tigard-Tualatin School District is launching ParentSquare—a simple and unified school-to-home communication platform—to reach and engage every parent, helping ensure all parents can participate in their student's education.
By unifying multiple tools into one communications app and service, ParentSquare provides a seamless experience for parents and staff. Parents can keep track of news, activities, and events from all their children’s schools in one place.
ParentSquare does not replace ParentVue and StudentVue. Hopefully you have received the information from the district and have had time to play around with the app and were successful setting up an account. If you need assistance please visit the ParentSquare webpage or contact the school office.

Would you like to be a volunteer or be a field trip chaperone? Have you gone through TTSD's volunteer process? If not, please make sure to do so. Once cleared you are good for 3 years. If there is even a slight change your answer is yes, then please complete the steps. It's better to have clearance than not! Here is the link!

Dear Art Rutkin Families,
We hope this message finds you well. We’re excited to share some great news from West Coast

We believe this adjustment will help accommodate all families and ensure that every child has
the opportunity to participate in our enriching soccer program.
