The Tiger Times

Week of April 27, 2025
Good Evening Tigers,
This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High, with this week's updates.
We are excited to highlight some of our student athletes. Gracie Cuthrell recorded her 100th strikeout of the season this week, and Owen Robinson and Dillon Bullard both reached 100 hits in baseball! We also want to highlight Athletes of the Week, runner Elle Dawson and baseball player Dillon Bullard. Congratulations to Zykell Burke, who will represent Ragsdale at the Corrigan Faircloth Banquet this week. Zykell is an outstanding scholar athlete.
Speaking of celebrating students, we need your help celebrating our seniors! If your student has received any scholarships, grants, or awards this year, we want to hear about it! Not only will this information help us properly recognize their hard work during Awards Day on May 22nd, but it also highlights the success and strength of our graduating class as a whole. Please send all scholarship, grant, and award information to bradlek5@gcsnc.com by May 19th. We are so proud of all of our Tigers!
Interim reports will be sent out April 29 through document delivery. This means there are only 6 weeks left in the semester!
Prom tickets are on sale now! Tickets are $40 for one more week before they increase to $50 on May 3. Be sure to get your tickets now to lock in the lowest price. Non-Ragsdale students must complete a guest form. Prom is May 17!
Senior parents- we need your help with the Senior Picnic! See our newsletter, social media, or website newsletter link for more information.
Also, we need YOU to help us celebrate our amazing teachers! Starting May 5, we will have cards at the main office so that you can give a shoutout to your favorite Ragsdale Teacher. We also have a form in our newletter where you can leave messages of thanks. Students will have opportunity during all lunches to send notes. Our Ragsdale PTSA is asking for your help to bring treats for our teachers. See our newsletter for details.
All of our student fees have now been posted on School Funds Online. Please note that a transaction fee applies to all payments, including those made in person at the school using cash or check. An updated fee schedule can be found in this week's newsletter.
AP Exams begin the week starting May 5. More information is available in our news letter!
Thank you , have a great week, and, as always, TIGER PRIDE!

Athletics
Athlete of the Week
Ragsdale High School is proud to announce freshman standout Elle Dawson as this week’s Athlete of the Week following her incredible performance at the Dudley Invitational, where she captured 1st place overall in both the mile and two-mile run. Elle clocked a blazing 5:08 in the mile and an impressive 11:10 in the two-mile, reaffirming that she is one of the top young distance runners in the state.
As if her double victory at Dudley wasn't enough, Elle currently holds the #5 ranking in North Carolina among all freshmen in the 800m with a personal best of 2:21, showcasing her remarkable range and speed.
Elle has been putting together a stellar freshman campaign, highlighted by a 2nd place finish at the 4A NCHSAA State Championship in outdoor track. During the indoor season, she placed 9th overall in the 1500m and 14th overall in the 3200m at the 4A Indoor State Championship.
With a strong outdoor season already underway, Elle has qualified for the 4A Regional Championship, and all signs point to continued success as she looks to build on her momentum.
Ragsdale Athletics is incredibly proud of Elle’s achievements and looks forward to what’s to come from one of the most promising young athletes in the state.
Go Tigers!
Ragsdale High School is proud to announce senior Dillon Bullard as this week’s Athlete of the Week, following his outstanding performance in a crucial varsity conference baseball matchup against cross-town rival Southwest Guilford.
In a game packed with intensity and playoff implications, Bullard dramatically rose to the occasion. With the score tied in the top of the ninth inning, he delivered the game-winning blow—a clutch two-run double into left-center field—sealing a hard-fought road victory for the Tigers.
Bullard, the team’s starting catcher, has been a rock behind the plate all season and is widely regarded as one of the top catchers in the area. His leadership, grit, and consistency have made a tremendous impact on and off the field.
Looking ahead, Dillon will continue both his academic and athletic career at the University of Mount Olive next fall. We are excited to see him finish the regular season strong and help lead Ragsdale on what we hope will be a deep playoff run.
Please join us in congratulating Dillon Bullard on this well-deserved recognition.
