Professional Learning Communities
We are building collaborative capacity! The team conversations and collective work to know and understand our learners allow us to design instruction appropriately. Thank you for embracing the mindset that all students are capable of learning and achieving, and designing learning experiences for them. Students will rise to the challenges we present to them and grow as they learn to struggle productively.
PLC Check-in
Please take some time to reflect upon your PLCs. What is going well? How are they benefiting you as a teacher? How are they benefiting your students?
Framework:
1. What do we want our students to know, be able to do and
deeply understand?
2. How do we know they are learning?
3. What do we do when students are not learning?
4. What do we do to deepen students' learning once they have
mastered content?
Thank you Title One Task Force!
In an effort to accomplish the Kindergarten screening, our amazing team of Title One teachers traveled as a task force to each elementary building to administer the KRA and Ohio Reading Diagnostic Assessment. We are working to compile the data to determine which score we will report to the state - which directly impacts the Early Literacy score on the State Report Card.
Thank you to our Title One Teachers for accomplishing this for us!

STEAM Update
Our Innovative STEAM Team is off to a great start, engaging their students in the Makerspaces in each elementary school! The team presented to the community and Board of Education at the September board meeting. Their excitement is infectious!

State Report Cards were released today. Click here for a summary of State Report Card Information. This afternoon, a team of WE principals met at the ESC for a State Report Card Review session. Principals will be talking more about building-specific data with teachers very soon.

An Introduction to Fluency in Eureka Math2: Beyond Fast and Accurate
Check out this Eureka Math video to learn about students' many opportunities to work with their fluency skills.
Why is math fluency Important? It contributes to students' ability to solve more difficult problems quicker and more accurately, leads to success in students' future mathematics courses, and builds confidence in students' math ability.
What You'll Explore in This Session:
In this webinar, participants will ground themselves in fluency by learning the definition of and the purpose for fluency in supporting students. They will explore the intentionality and coherence of fluency activities within and across grade bands.
You will also:
- investigate how the structure and variety of Eureka Math2 fluency activities create a foundation upon which conceptual understanding deepens and
- discover how the coherence of fluency activities builds and deepens conceptual understanding over time.

Science of Reading Update
Science of Reading Training
Districts and schools are required by the The Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) to ensure all teachers and administrators receive Professional Development in the Science of Reading not later than June 30, 2025. Depending on the grade-level and content area in which you teach, there are different courses (pathways) that you will take. Stipends will be provided following completion of the pathways. Certificate Submission Form
We realize that plans were communicated regarding debriefing sessions on Nov. 5 on the SOR sessions/pathways different groups of teachers are completing. The original plan may be adjusted, as we are working on PD Day plans currently. We will share the detailed plans soon.
