Welcome Back to School, Parkview!
Adventures in STEM Await in 2024-2025!
Welcome Message
Dear Parkview Families,
I hope this letter finds you and your family doing well. My name is Mrs. Cunniff and I am excited to be your child's new Principal at Parkview Elementary School. I believe that communication between home and school is essential for a successful year, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and provide you with some information to get you ready for the exctiing year ahead.
A little bit about me: I grew up in San Bruno, California and moved to attend school in Chico 23 years ago. I have been a teacher and administrator in Chico Unified over the past 13 years and I absolutely love my job because I LOVE working with children. My educational background includes teaching and administrative credentials from Chico State, and my varied roles within the teaching field have shaped my interest and knowledge around implementing research based teaching strategies and intiatives that best support student learning. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my son, being active in our various parks, rivers, and lakes in our beautiful area. I look forward to getting to know more about your child and your family as the year progresses.
In our school, it is my charge to create a safe and welcoming environment where every child feels valued and respected. Elementary school is a very special and formative time in a child's life, and I aim to create an atmosphere where every student is just as happy arriving in the morning as they are when leaving at the end of the school day.
Parkview's approach to learning meets each student's unique strengths and abilities, throuugh the robust and authentic learning model. Our curriculum this year will continue to include project based learning units that incorporate STEM, Reading, Mathematics, Art, Music, PE, and Technology.
Throughout the year, I will be communicating with you through these newsletters posted monthly in ParentSquare to keep you informed about updates to the educational program, upcoming events, and any other important information you will need to know. I encourage you to reach out to me if you ever have any questions or concerns. Your input and feedback are always welcome.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your child and getting to know your family. Thank you for entrusting me with the wonderful school culture and academic program that exists at Parkview Elementary. Let's work together to make this a successful year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cunniff
