BECOME A LINCOLN VOLUNTEER TODAY!
DPS uses VOLY, a volunteer management system, to post volunteer opportunities and find volunteers.

Once you create an account, you will fill out the following:

- Once approved, you will be able to sign up directly for volunteer opportunities through the VOLY platform!
Thank you for your desire to volunteer with us! Volunteers are an integral part of what we do every day in DPS.
Morning Drop Off & Departure
Students may NOT be dropped off at school prior to 7:35am unsupervised. Our school staff start supervision at 7:35am! If you bring your child before 7:35am, you are expected to stay with your child(ren) until a supervisor opens the front door to begin greeting students. If your child walks to school on their own, please make sure they will not arrive until 7:35am. We want to keep ALL students safe in the morning! Thanks for your cooperation.
Dismissal times are staggered.
- 2:50 - Kindergarten
- 2:55 - Grade 1
- 3:00 - Grade 2
- 3:05 - Grade 3 - 5
Supervision after school is from 3:05-3:20. At 3: 15 all students are brought into the school and supervised until 3:20. Please make arrangements to have students picked up by 3:20.

Parent/Visitor Policy
The safety of our students is our highest priority. Parents and visitors must check in at the office when entering the building. The procedure for entering the building is as follows: Ring the door buzzer, state your reason for your visit and then enter the double doors once you are buzzed in. Once between the double doors the office will assist you in allowing you access to the office. Once in the office visitors must be checked in and remain in the office, unless escorted by school personal.
Before and after school, we ask that parents and younger children wait on the sidewalk. Visitors are not allowed to access to the playground
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe!!
Sick? Stay home from school and notify the office! 701-456-0014
Children don't learn very well or get much out of school when they aren't feeling well. It truly is in the child's - and their classmates- best interest to keep children home when they are sick.

Parent Communication
Lincoln Elementary will be using ClassDojo as the primary school to home communication tool for the 2024-2025 school year. ClassDojo is user friendly and allows principals, teachers, and family members to connect and engage with each other. Other Communication platforms that you will want to check for school messages are: Email, Lincoln Website, and Lincoln Facebook.
DPS Pantry and Closet
Dickinson Backpack Program
The Dickinson Backpack Program is a food program that provides school-age children with easy to prepare food on weekends and during school breaks. This program is meant to assist families who may be struggling financially with providing their children enough food.
If you believe your child could benefit from this program, please stop by the school office for a permission form for your child to receive this donation.
Parent Suggestion Box and Student Celebrations
Parents, please help us improve by giving us your suggestions and feedback! Your suggestions are completely anonymous and the form can be found on the right side of our Lincoln website.
We also have a Celebrations form on our website and would love to hear about any celebrations our students may have whether it be in sports, arts, or community involvement!
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
In the event of a crisis situation, please be assured that our school has an emergency management plan in place and that school, district, and emergency staff will respond accordingly. We need your support and ask that you rely on communications from the school district. The first and official way for us to contact you in an emergency is using our automated calling system SchoolMessenger. We will also use our district website and social media accounts, and local news outlets to communicate information. It is very important that you understand that in a crisis situation, school phones are needed to manage the situation and lines must remain open. Calling could also put students and employees at risk in an intruder situation (if they did not have time to turn down the ringer, your call could potentially give away their hiding spot). You must also know that you need to wait for instructions on student release and do not go to the school. Emergency personnel responding to the situation need the area clear to do their job. After emergency responders determine that a safe student release is possible, arrangements will be made to reunite children with their families. In a reunification situation, you will be told where and when to go, and you will need photo identification.
In the aftermath of a crisis, it is important to remain calm as children are greatly influenced by their family’s sense of well-being, and anything that families can do to reassure students will be helpful. At the same time, families need to be compassionate listeners when their children speak of the crisis.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me.
