Taking a closer look at trauma
Let's discuss the impact of trauma on learning and students
Monthly Series
Each month, we will try to provide a resource, informal professional development, or just an opportunity to come together and examine topics related to trauma and its impact on students.
Here's a look at what we have planned for March!
MARCH EVENT
After school screening
Join us in the Team Room on MARCH 28th from 3:15-4:45 OR on MARCH 30th 4:00-5:30 to watch Paper Tigers. The movie shows one school's journey to breaking the cycles of poverty, violence and disease that impacts students' lives. The movie will show how just one adult can change the course for a student. The movie is 102 minutes long. We will provide popcorn. Bring your own drink. Some time will be used to reflect after the movie. We will collect signatures to give you CTLE credit in MLP after the screening.
This movie takes place in a high school but we are hopeful that many of the ideas will help us K-12. And, at the very least, help us understand the impact of trauma on a student's performance at any age.
Plan on attending? Please add your name to our google doc.
