December 2024
Klenk Families,
As the calendar year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared so far this school year. I especially want to extend my deepest gratitude to you, our families. Your support and partnership play a vital role in our success as a school community. Whether volunteering at events, participating in parent-teacher conferences, or simply cheering on your child’s achievements, your involvement makes all the difference.
This month is filled with exciting learning opportunities and heartwarming moments. As we prepare for our QSEs (Quarterly Summative Exams), I want to remind you of the dates:
- Tuesday, December 10: Science (Grade 3 & Grade 4) and Math (Grade 5)
- Thursday, December 12: Reading (Grades 3-5)
- Tuesday, December 17: Math (Grades 1-4) and Science (Grade 5)
We look forward to celebrating our students for their growth and achievement on these upcoming assessments. Our Kindergarten students will also be taking their Math QSE the week of December 16.
We are also looking forward to our upcoming Winter Class Parties on Friday, December 20 from 1:30-2:30 PM. You can see more details below. Please take a moment to RSVP if you plan to attend.
Looking ahead to the new year, we are excited to continue building on the strong foundation we’ve established. We have many wonderful events and initiatives planned to support our students’ growth. Thank you for entrusting us with your children’s education.
Wishing you and your family a safe, joyful, and restful holiday season.
Gratefully,
Dr. Allie Martin
Principal

We look forward to seeing you on campus for our family lunch days. Please remember to bring identification and check-in at the front office to receive your visitor badge. As a reminder, here are the grade level days:
Monday: 3rd Grade
Tuesday: 4th and 5th Grade
Wednesday: 2nd Grade
Thursday: 1st Grade
Friday: Kindergarten
Student Cell Phone Expectations
I wanted to take the opportunity to remind all families about the guidelines outlined in the Student Code of Conduct regarding the use of personal electronic devices, specifically cell phones. The Student Code of Conduct states the following:
“If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated. The parent may pick up the confiscated telecommunications device from the principal's office.” p.76
While the district permits students to possess personal cell phones, it is crucial that these devices remain turned off during the instructional day. Unless prior permission has been received, teachers will collect any cell phones that are outside of student backpacks during the instructional day.
If/when a device is collected by the teacher, they will bring the device to the front office. Parents will then be contacted to schedule a time to pick-up the cell phone from the school.
