2021-2022 Snapshot
Many are asking “what will school look like this year?” You can rest assured that Mar Lee staff will continue to go the extra mile to keep our students safe. Although we have all learned that everything can change, below is a snapshot of what to expect. You can read the full plan by clicking on the image to the right. Please note that the plan is subject to change at any time.
What type of instruction will be offered this year?
5 days a week, in-person instruction only.
Will my child be required to wear a mask?
At school, masks will be optional. (however, this is subject to change) On the bus, yes. It is a federal mandate for all public transportation.
Will vaccines and COVID-19 testing be required?
No
What type of hygiene protocols will be in place?
Continued regular sanitizing, handwashing, and cleaning procedures and stocking of supplies as was the case last year.
What will student spacing look like throughout the school?
Social distancing will be maintained to the best extent possible.
What about visitors and guest access to the building?
It will be limited like last year.
Who will be responsible for screening students and staff?
Parents will screen students in the morning, staff will screen prior to work. Parents can access the at-home screening tool below.
What if my child becomes symptomatic at school and what contact tracing will take place?
The students will be monitored in a quarantine area and parents will be contacted to pick up the student immediately. The school will work with the health department to continue the required contact tracing as last year.
What about breakfast, lunch, and field trips?
All students will receive free breakfast and lunch but a la carte items are extra. Breakfast will take place in their homeroom and lunch will take place in the cafeteria with social distancing to the best extent possible. Field trips are expected to resume following bus protocols and current conditions. Assemblies will take place on a case by case basis.
What can I expect athletics to look like?
All MHSAA guidelines will be followed with regard to practices, games, and spectators.
What additional social emotional supports will Mar Lee offer?
Mar Lee School is committed to providing the necessary identification and intensive support strategies necessary to help our students and staff. A team will be created to fulfill this mission.
What are important dates that I need to know?
August 10th-13th-Kindergarten Camp
August 16th-Parents may contact the school to learn their child's teacher
August 23rd-Open House K-5th from 5-5:30 and 6th-8th from 6-6:30
August 24th-First day of school
August 31st-Picture Day
September 3rd & 6th-No school, Labor Day Weekend
September 22nd-Half day for students
Any families requiring transportation should fill out this form. (if they have not done so already) Dean Transportation will be notifying families of bus stop times in mid August.
