October is...
National Bullying Prevention Month
Cookie Month
Teen Read Week- October 7-13.
Come in and check out a book during Teen Read Week and receive a pass to pick up a cookie on Monday the 15th during lunch in the library.
Vote with your change is back. It has moved to the printer area. The question for October is which cookie is the best, Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, or Snickerdoodle. The truck bank contains all the change for the year. Over the past two years, we have raised $100 for Read Aloud Delaware. Let's keep it going.

Books, Books, Books
I Hunt Killers, by Barry Lyga
This book was very good. I have been looking at it and have recommended it for a long time, but I had not taken the time to read it. I did not need another series to be caught up in, but I cannot help wanting to know more about Jasper. This is such a cool idea. What would it be like to know the nooks and crannies of a killers mind? Jasper is struggling with balancing who he wants to be and who his father taught him to be. I highly recommend this book.
Summary from Goodreads
What if the world's worst serial killer...was your dad?
Jasper "Jazz" Dent is a likable teenager. A charmer, one might say.
But he's also the son of the world's most infamous serial killer, and for Dear Old Dad, Take Your Son to Work Day was year-round. Jazz has witnessed crime scenes the way cops wish they could—from the criminal's point of view.
And now bodies are piling up in Lobo's Nod.
In an effort to clear his name, Jazz joins the police in a hunt for a new serial killer. But Jazz has a secret—could he be more like his father than anyone knows?

A Taxonomy of Love, by Rachael Allen
This was an interesting take on the girl next door story. I enjoyed the format with the taxonomies throughout the book also the story is told over many years, but only a few key moments from those years. It is like a snapshot into Spencer and Hope's lives. Spencer's Tourette syndrome is part of the story it is not forced or awkward. I highly recommend this book.
Summary from Goodreads.
The moment Spencer meets Hope the summer before seventh grade, it’s . . . something at first sight. He knows she’s special, possibly even magical. The pair become fast friends, climbing trees and planning world travels. After years of being outshone by his older brother and teased because of his Tourette syndrome, Spencer finally feels like he belongs. But as Hope and Spencer get older and life gets messier, the clear label of “friend” gets messier, too.
Through sibling feuds and family tragedies, new relationships and broken hearts, the two grow together and apart, and Spencer, an aspiring scientist, tries to map it all out using his trusty system of taxonomy. He wants to identify and classify their relationship, but in the end, he finds that life doesn’t always fit into easy-to-manage boxes, and it’s this messy complexity that makes life so rich and beautiful.
