Great News!
I am happy to share that Whitney Deweese will be joining Empresa as our Assistant Principal for 25-26
Whitney DeWeese is honored to return to her alma mater, as the new Assistant Principal. As a proud former Empresa Knight (1991–1997), Whitney brings over a decade of experience in student support and counseling within the Vista Unified School District. She served as the Elementary School Counselor at Foothill Oak Elementary for eight years before taking on the role of School Counseling Coordinator for the district, where she led initiatives to enhance student well-being and social-emotional development district-wide.
Her extensive background in school counseling equips her with a deep understanding of students' academic, social, and emotional needs, allowing her to approach leadership with empathy and a student-centered focus. This experience is invaluable in her role as Assistant Principal, where she aims to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Deeply passionate about fostering inclusive, supportive, and academically enriching environments, Whitney is excited to collaborate with staff, students, and families to continue building a strong and connected school community.

State testing results for students in grades 3-5
Over the last few weeks, students in grades 3-5 have completed the annual California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). The CAASPP assessments help measure student learning and growth in key subjects including English Language Arts, math, and science.
As scores become available, families may view their individual student score reports in Parent Portal within the Test Scores section under “State Test Scores Reports.” We anticipate that all 2025 CAASPP student score reports will be shared by late June.
