- We are encouraging because we believe in the “Intangibles” which can build a child’s self-esteem and confidence.
- We are creative in our instruction because we believe every child has strengths and they should be able to use those strengths while learning.
- We are trustworthy because we believe having integrity builds trust which is essential to building engaged relationships with students, parents, and the community. Intangibles – “Good Morning”, “Hi”, “Great Job!” “I love your smile”, “Wow, you’re awesome!”
Become a Volunteer Today! (Repeat)
All volunteers in the Raptor system for the 2023-2024 School Year have expired. Volunteers should have received an email from Raptor detailing that the volunteer process resets every year and that volunteers are required to complete a 2024-2025 CCPS Application found on the CCPS Website- Become a Volunteer. Message from the Principal (Repeat)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you and your child have enjoyed the first week back to school. It has been wonderful meeting everyone and interacting with your children. Thanks to our collective efforts, we had a very smooth start to the 2024-2025 school year: Just a few friendly reminders:
- Surprise Car Riders: Thank you for planning your day before the 2 p.m. cut-off to ensure a smooth dismissal.
- Occasional Surprise Car Riders: Parents must email MHESforms@calvertnet.k12.md.us no later than 2 p.m. on the day your child will be picked up.
- Everyday Surprise Car Riders: Parents must email MHESforms@calvertnet.k12.md.us and let us know your child will be an everyday car rider (1 time only)
- After 2 p.m. – Our staff is preparing the car rider list. Therefore, the staff cannot accept late notice requests after 2 p.m. Your child(ren) will need to ride on the bus.
- Kiss N Go: During arrival, we ask that parents please stay IN their car and make only "right" turns out of the school to ensure a safe and efficient arrival for all.
- Morning Preparation: Please make sure to ask your child if they have everything to start the school day to avoid having to come into the office and drop off during our busy time of the day.
- Late Arrivals -- Students should be in their classroom at 8:45 a.m. If your child(ren) is driven to school, please make every effort to arrive before 8:45 a.m. so that your child(ren) will not be marked “Tardy”. This also keeps the classroom interruptions to a minimum.
- Student Birthdays: Due to allergies and health concerns, non-food items like pencils, stickers, and trinkets are preferred for classroom celebrations. Communicate with the teacher in advance if planning to send items.
-
Health room: If your child needs to take medication at school and you haven’t yet submitted the medication or the required order forms, please do so as soon as possible. This will ensure your child receives the maximum health benefit during the school day. You can find the necessary forms on the CCPS website through the online registration portal under the school health program.
Thank-you for your attention to these reminders!
Respectfully,
Mr. Patton

Annual Student Update
Dear parents/guardians of CCPS students,
If you have already completed the Annual Student Update/Emergency for your child(ren), thank you! If you still need to complete it, please follow the directions below. The direct link to access Home Access Center (HAC) to complete the update is https://hac.calvertnet.k12.md.us/HomeAccess. The deadline to complete is September 24, 2024.
You will need to log in to your Home Access Center (HAC) account to complete the Annual Student Update form electronically for each child who lives with you by Tuesday, September 24, 2024. This process replaces the emergency form and several other permission forms and acknowledgments that are required each school year. Only one guardian needs to complete this process, which is critical to school operations. Once each child’s form is submitted, it will be marked complete in eSchoolPlus, our student information system.
As a reminder, please be sure to have the forms completed by Tuesday, September 24, 2024. If you have any questions or concerns about HAC or the Annual Student Update form, please contact your child’s school.
DIRECTIONS:
Logging in to HAC: First, navigate to the Parents page of the Calvertnet website (www.calvertnet.k12.md.us) and select Home Access Center (HAC) under Quick Links. Next, enter your HAC username and password. If you’ve never logged into HAC before, please use the “Click Here to Register for HAC” link to sign up for an account. If you cannot remember your HAC username or password, please use the “Forgot My Username or Password” link. If you are unable to access HAC for any reason, please contact your child’s school.
Completing the Annual Student Update: Once you are in HAC, click on the Registration menu item, then select the Update Enrollment tab and click “Start” next to Annual Student Update.
You may be asked to check a box affirming you are 13 years or older, click “Begin Forms.” Take your time filling out each section of the Annual Student Update form before submitting.
Completing the Annual Student Update for Additional Children: If you have other children who live with you, use the drop-down arrow in the upper right-hand corner of HAC (circled below) to toggle to another child. Select the circle next to the child’s name, click “Submit,” and navigate to the Update Enrollment tab in the Registration menu.
When you click “Start” on additional children, you will see the following prompt:
Selecting “Import” will use the previous submission to prefill some fields on the form such as emergency contacts, doctor’s name, etc. and will save you time. Selecting “Start from Scratch” will use information that is already in eSchoolPlus for your next child, but it will not import any of the changes you entered for your first child. We recommend selecting “Import” if relevant information shared between your children was entered in the first Annual Student Update form you submitted. We recommend “Start from Scratch” if you would prefer to keep them separate.
Continue this process until the Annual Student Update form has been completed for each of the children who live with you.
IReady Assessments
Please see the attached letter below for any student that has text-to-speech on the reading diagnostic and/ or a calculation device on the non-calculator sections of the mathematics diagnostic on an IEP or 504 Plan.
