From the Principal
Hello families!
We are officially done with STAAR testing! Thank you for your help in preparing your children for these assessments and understanding when we were closed campus to visitors. We now have 11 days left of the 23-24 school year. It went by so fast, but was such a wonderful school year! Thank you for partnering with us! Be sure to see below for all the important upcoming dates.
End of the Year Campus Events
April and May are busy months around here! If you plan to attend various events across campus, please click here to have your Raptor badge preprinted. A badge will only be pre-printed if we have scanned your driver’s license. Due to the large amounts of visitors attending these events, please allow yourself 10-15 minutes to retrieve your badge.
Each adult only needs to fill the form out one time for each event, you do not need to fill it out for each student you have on campus.2024-2025 Life School Academic Calendar

MEDICATION PICK UP
Dear Parent/Guardian,
If your student has medication in the nurse’s office at school, please pick up on or before the last day of school, May 22nd.
As our medication policy states: “No medication of any kind will be released from the nurse’s clinic to the child.” If someone other than you will be picking up the medication, please call the school nurse to make arrangements.
Any medication left after the last day of school will be properly disposed of.
YEARBOOKS FOR SALE
We have a few yearbooks left for sale!
Students may bring $40 (no checks) to campus to purchase.
Families may also click here to purchase using a credit card. Please be sure to put your child's full name. Yearbooks will be sent home within 48 hours of parents purchasing.
SCOLIOSIS SCREENING-5TH GRADE
Every school year Life School nurses perform a Scoliosis screening. Catching a spinal problem early can make the treatment much easier. Not treating spinal problems can lead to serious health problems. Screenings will take place on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024.
If you do not wish to have your child screened for religious reasons, please send back the form sent home with your student by Monday, May 6th, 2024
Referrals will be sent home if your child requires a follow-up with a physician. Please call your campus nurse with any questions or concerns.

LIFE SCHOOL SUMMER SPORT CAMPS
3rd-6th Grade Summer School
In the event a student does not perform satisfactorily on his/her math and/or reading STAAR test, we will provide Accelerated Instruction Summer School. Upon receiving STAAR scores, we will begin contacting parents to inform them of the Summer School requirement for their student. Summer School is free to Life School students who did not pass their Math and/or Reading STAAR tests.
Recess Cart
The recess cart has been a great addition to recess for our students. They have loved having extra items to play with and interact with one another by playing games. We need your help to replenish items for the cart. Please use the link to purchase items for donations. You can have it shipped directly to the school or your home then deliver it yourself. We appreciate your donations and support!

Traffic Safety
Please be aware of the new neighborhood being constructed near our school. While exiting our parking lot, exercise caution, especially at the intersection indicated by the stop sign on the map. The red lines of traffic do not stop, as there are vehicles entering and exiting the new neighborhood. Oaks Blvd, the cross street, does not belong to The Oaks Church or Life School. We are not able to add stop signs at that intersection, other than the one already added, shown in the picture. When crossing the intersection, please remain vigilant and watch out for oncoming traffic. As traffic increases, the campus, district, and church will look into solutions to ensure arrival and dismissal procedures run smoothly. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring safety in our arrival and dismissal lines.
PARENT & STUDENT SHOUT OUTS TO STAFF
We would like to recognize LSRO staff for all the amazing things that they do each day for our students. If you have someone that you would like to brag about, please fill out this form and we will share the Shout Outs through the weekly Thursday Exchange.

Reading Together
Research consistently shows that reading aloud to children has a significant positive impact on their literacy development and overall academic success. Set aside time daily or weekly to read-aloud with your student. You can use our LifeLeader Literacy Connections to discuss the stories you read together. Share with us on social media using #LifeLeadersRead.
BREAKFAST & LUNCH
All households need to complete the Free and Reduced Price School Meal Application each school year, even if your child does not purchase school meals. The application is available throughout the school year and available to complete again should your family have a change in income or additional family members in the household.
If you have any questions, please contact Judy Frazier at 469-552-9200, ext 4204.

NEHS Service Project
NEHS will be collecting drink tabs as their service project this coming school year to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House recycles the tabs to have extra funds to be able to help families who need to stay with them while their child receives treatment! Students can turn their tabs in to their homeroom teacher. There will be classroom and grade levels prizes for the most donations!
