From the Principal's Desk
Hello Rose Pioneer Families,
Congratulations to Mrs. Kittle who is this year's American Legion Teacher of the Year at Rose Pioneer!
Mrs. Kittle is a highly skilled educator, renowned for her exceptional ability to teach young students. She has a deep understanding of teaching both literacy and math, is able to foster critical thinking skills, breaks down complex concepts into manageable steps, and makes learning engaging and accessible for all students. Mrs. Kittle definitely has earned the honor of being named teacher of the year for the American Legion and we are fortunate to have her on staff at Rose Pioneer.
We are pleased to present you with the Annual Education Report (AER), which provides key information on the 2023-24 educational progress for Rose Pioneer Elementary School. The AER addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. The school’s report contains information about student assessment, accountability, and teacher quality. Please take some time to review the AER and if you have any questions, please contact me at your convenience: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XBsdxtH0Ft4qy-JWhboAr_HOoU2D3ui5/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=105284282239747445175&rtpof=true&sd=true
Below, you will find the temporary bus cancellation schedule. The routes highlighted in green are Rose Pioneer bus routes and, as you can see, Route 31 will not run on February 19, 20 and 21. Please use the carline to drop off and pick up students. Preschool students must be signed into and out of school but all other students, Y5-5th grade, are to be dropped off and picked up curbside in front of the building. Other than preschool parents, please do not park and walk your child to class or attempt to walk up to the carline staff to retrieve your student at the end of the school day. Simply stay in the carline and approach curbside; it really does move along quickly and safely.
If you have a child with special needs, please consider joining Holly Area Schools Parent Advisory Council (PAC). See the information below for more details about PAC and an excellent opportunity for families coming up this Monday, February 10th!
If you aren't already connected, please like Rose Pioneer Elementary School on Facebook and @RosePioneerEl on Twitter.
Thank you for reading and have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Michael Beattie

Revisiting Habit 3: Think Win-Win
Think Win-Win is the belief that everyone can win. It’s not you or me, but both of us. It’s a belief that there are enough good things for everyone. It’s being able to be happy when good things happen to other people.
At Rose Pioneer, a big part of thinking win-win is being a kind, caring and considerate person. When we do things for others, we both win. I feel proud that I helped you, and you are grateful that I cared.
When family members argue it is a great time to talk about thinking win-win. Have a discussion about what each person is seeking and come to a compromise where everyone wins. Another way to bring Think Win-Win into your home is to do something kind for another person. Talk as a family about how it made you feel, and how you think it made the other person feel.
