Kate McKinnon Visits White Eagle!
Our 3rd, 4th & 5th grade students had a blast with an author visit today from Kate McKinnon! Ms. McKinnon is an award-winning performer (you might know her as weird Barbie from the Barbie movie) and writer. She visited White Eagle today to talk about her new book, The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science.
Thank you to Mrs. Vieira & Anderson's Bookshops for organizing this incredible event!
White Eagle Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
Together, as Wolves, we have been celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month which honors the contributions of Hispanic and Latin Americans to the United States and recognizes the trailblazing individuals who fought for progress and equity. Our staff Diversity & Equity committee has put together some amazing resources to help students learn about Hispanic Heritage Month through classroom activities, videos, music, daily announcements & displays around the building.
Fall Festival & Ice Cream Social Mash-Up
The Fall Festival & Color Run on October 5th from 11:00am - 2:00pm at the White Eagle Elementary School playground! This year, we will be hosting our rescheduled Ice Cream Social at the Fall Festival & Color Run. Ice cream will be donated by Andy's Custard & White Eagle themed swag will be provided by Ondrea Weikum Grill of Compass Realty. Entertainment will be provided by everyone's favorite disc jockey, DJ Suave Smooth and there will be fun fall themed activities for the kids, prizes, & concessions.
A small army of VOLUNTEERS is needed to make this even successful. Please signup today to help us bring the event to life for the kids!

We cannot wait to spend a beautiful fall day with all of our White Eagle Elementary families. And, we are thrilled to have so many teachers, yet again, volunteering for this event!
National Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day
Walk, Bike, & Roll to School is a nationwide event being held on Wednesday, October 9 to promote and encourage an active lifestyle. Active trips to school enable children to incorporate the regular physical activity they need each day while also forming healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Regular physical activity helps children build strong bones, muscles and joints, and it decreases the risk of obesity. In contrast, insufficient physical activity can contribute to chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke.
We hope you will join us as we Walk, Bike & Roll to White Eagle Elementary School!!
Thank You for Supporting Our IPEF Team!
Child Passenger Safety
- Illinois state law requires children to ride in a child safety seat until age 8 and rear-facing until age 2.
- Children under the age of 8 being transported in a motor vehicle must be properly restrained in an appropriate child restraint system, EVERY TRIP, EVERY TIME!
- Illinois Child passenger Safety Protection Act requires children ride in a rear-facing car seat until the age of two. However, it is recommended that they stay rear-facing as long as possible. The exact height, weight, and age limits can be located on labels on the side, back, or bottom of your car seat or in the car seat manual.
- Children should ride forward-facing using a five-point harness until reaching the maximum height, weight, or age limit of the car seat.
-
Air bags (and seat belts) were designed to protect average-sized adults and NOT children. They can be extremely dangerous to infants or young children seated in front of them. According to research, children exposed to air bags during a crash are twice as likely to suffer a serious injury.
