It's Going to Be a Colorful Year!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It's Going to Be a Colorful Year! – a vibrant, dynamic experience that celebrates the uniqueness and potential of every child. As we embark on a new school year, we are filled with excitement and anticipation for all the wonderful experiences and growth opportunities that lie ahead.

Our Goals for the Year

  1. Fueling the Whole-Child We believe in a holistic approach to education. This means nurturing not only your child's intellectual abilities but also their artistic talents, confidence, emotional, social, and physical well-being. Our activities and curriculum are designed to support and enhance every aspect of your child's development.

  2. Developing Strong Reading Skills Reading is the foundation of all learning. We are committed to fostering a love for reading and helping each student develop strong literacy skills. Through engaging books, dynamic discussions, and tailored reading programs, we aim to make every student a confident and enthusiastic reader.

  3. Celebrating Growth Every step of progress, no matter how small, is a reason to celebrate. We will be focusing on the individual growth of each student, recognizing their efforts, and celebrating their achievements. Our goal is to build a positive, encouraging environment where students feel proud of their accomplishments.

  4. Developing Strong Character Skills Education goes beyond academics. We are dedicated to helping our students develop strong character skills, including kindness, respect, responsibility, and resilience. These values will be woven into our daily activities and interactions, ensuring that our students grow into well-rounded individuals.

We understand that sending your child back to school can come with a mix of emotions. Please know that we are dedicated to providing a supportive, nurturing environment where your child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We are excited to embark on this vibrant journey together and look forward to a fantastic year ahead.

Go Redhawks!!!

Love,

Don't Be Tardy for the Party!

The bulk of new learning for reading and math occurs between 8:35am and 10:45am each day. When your child is tardy, even by 5 minutes, they miss important skills and concepts. If your child is tardy 5 minutes every day, they miss 25 minutes of material each week. Over the course of the year, this accumulates 13 hours worth of material they will need to catch up in order to prevent from falling behind.

Please do your best to be on time.

Daily Schedule Daily Schedule

Breakfast, Arrival, and Departure

Breakfast and Lunch Program: All Holladay students receive free breakfast and lunch meals. Monthly breakfast and lunch menus are updated and posted on the district's website.

Gates Open and Breakfast: The school campus will open at 7:45 AM. Students are welcome to enjoy breakfast from 7:45 AM- 8:30 AM. We encourage families to arrive early if their child will be eating breakfast at school.

Student Instructional Hours: To maximize student learning, students should be on time and at school each day.

  • 8:35 AM – 2:45 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • 8:35 AM – 1:45 PM Wednesday (Early Dismissal)

Late Arrivals: All students arriving after 8:35 AM are late and will need to be signed in by an adult 18 years or older at the front office.

Early Pick-up: If student(s) must be picked up earlier than the 2:45 (M,T,Th,F) / 1:45 (W) PM dismissal time, we encourage you to do so before 2:15 (M,T,Th,F) / 1:15 (W) PM. You must sign your child(ren) out from the Main Office.

Student absences? Call 520-225-1602 to alert our attendance tech, Ravein Slowe. Arizona State Law requires parents and guardians to report all student absences.

Morning Drop-off: Please use the single drop off location on 33rd Street starting at 7:45 AM. Have your child exit the car toward the curb/passenger side. We ask drivers to keep the flow of traffic moving forward and drivers to be aware of their surroundings. For safety reasons, there is no parking or U-turns to be made in the bus bay space. 33rd Street wraps around to 32nd Street and is the safest way to exit the neighborhood.

Dismissal pick-up: Similar to previous years, Holladay will have two pick-up locations.

  • 33rd Street will remain the pick up point for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students, along with their older 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade siblings.

  • Fremont Avenue will remain the pick up point for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.

After-School Programs: Holladay’s Creative Arts After-School (CAAS) Program will provide students with snacks and homework support and one art course from 2:45 PM - 4:25 PM. Interest forms will be handed to students. Student placement confirmation will be communicated before Friday, August 23rd. There will be no bus transportation for students. All students are to be picked up by 4:30 PM.
