Mountain View Weekly Update
September 27
Announcements & Updates
- The after-school Den Hour, from 3:30 - 4:30, begins on Tuesday, October 1. To sign up, students should use the link on Mrs. Toth's Google Classroom. The Lions' Den will be available after school Tuesday through Thursday for students wishing to complete projects, homework, and classwork, and for those students assigned by their teacher to complete missing work.
- Per Board of Education policy 2430, students must maintain passing grades (minimum 63%) in all classes to participate in Interscholastic Sports. Grades will be checked on October 2, the midpoint of the Fall season, and those students who do not meet the criteria will be ineligible to participate in athletics until their academic performance improves.
- Attendance is an essential component of a student’s academic performance and success. Often, the number of days that students are absent accumulates without parents realizing how many days have been missed. As per Mendham Borough Board of Education policy 5200, Attendance, “The Board of Education requires students enrolled in the school district attend school regularly in accordance with the laws of the State.” To that end, Administration will send attendance letters at the end of each month to those students who have accrued excessive excused/unexcused absences and tardies.
- Attention 5th, 6th, and 7th grade parents: Work habits rubrics and corresponding progress reports were mailed home for review on Wednesday. Please also review the enclosed letter for further details.
- Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:7C-6.6, school districts must, by October 1 of each year, provide parents specific information on State assessments or commercially developed standardized assessments that may be administered during the school year. Information about those assessments can be found on the district website HERE.
- The Mountain View Middle School "Year at a Glance" calendar, which was included in Back to School Night folders, will be updated periodically and reshared as needed. Please click here to access the calendar electronically.
