John Marshall School was lucky to have many activities to celebrate the importance of reading. We are so appreciative of the families that were able to visit our school end our Read Across America Celebration!

Every year over the past decade, this powerful movement has taken place on the first Saturday of March, kicking off at sundown the night before. Schools, businesses, and individuals around the world are already planning tech-free events in the days leading up to and following the big day to maximize its impact!

Whether it's just one hour or a full 24 hours, people everywhere will unplug from their screens to dive into offline activities, real-life conversations, in-person connections, and meaningful moments.

Many John Marshall classrooms and students participated in some Unplugged activities at school today.

Parents/ Guardians will sign up on Sign-Up Genius for a conference spot with their child's teacher. Homeroom teachers have shared their links with families. We encourage all parents/ guardians to sign up for a conference to review student achievements and set new goals for the remainder of the school year.

Grade Level Newsletter

We are encouraging parents/guardians to monitor their child's online/cell phone activity to ensure healthy digital habits. As part of our Positive Action Program for the school, we are hoping to promote positive peer interactions, as they build good character traits.

Please remind your child that they are not permitted to eat or drink on the bus. Students should not be finishing their breakfast on the bus in the morning or having a snack in the afternoon. Eating while on the bus can be a choking hazard and can also endanger other people on the bus who may have food allergies.

The students in the Newspaper Club enjoyed working on their finished product.

Our students have now settled into their routines at school and are familiar with the online programs they will be using this school year. Students can access these programs at home as well by logging into their Edison Classlink Account: https://launchpad.classlink.com/edison.

The Username is their Student ID number and the Password is their district issued password they use daily.

The new math program, enVisions by Savvas, has games and resources students can use at home and is available for students in all grades.

Students in Grades 2-5 can use their Reflex Math accounts to practice learning their basic math facts and start to build fraction understanding with Frax when ready.

Students in Grades 1-5 can work on their individualized assignments on their MyPath in i-Ready.

Students in Kindergarten and 1st Grade are also encouraged to visit their Reading Eggs accounts.
