CES Happenings

Dear CES Family,

Thanksgiving is a time to practice having an "attitude of gratitude." A couple of great examples: Mrs. Twitchell and Mrs. Ricci are leading the way by working our students to write letters of gratitude to staff, create a "gratitude tree" and making a general list of things that students are thankful for. At our Monday Morning Meeting next week, students will read some their letters and present their honored staff member with a flower. I invite you to join us. Also, on the heels of Veterans Day, Mrs. Crowther and Mrs. O'Kelley teamed with the local chapter of Blue Star Moms and Treats for Troops to send care packages to twenty active services members. The boxes contains all sorts of goodies and also a letter from a student to each service member. Great stuff.

There is something about learning to be grateful that improves the lives of everyone involved. What students are learning at CES regarding gratitude is providing them with an incredible foundation for the future as they choose to focus on being grateful and giving thanks. This is an amazing antidote for all of the tough things that our students will face in their future. This is what putting others first does for us.
