Be a Mr. Jensen!
Rest at the End, Not in the Middle
In this video, a single teacher saw beyond the surface and recognized the true calling of his student. Instead of scolding him for tapping away in class, this teacher acknowledged his innate talent and nurtured it. This video reminded me that every student has a unique talent and passion that should never be stifled, and we get to discover the distinct rhythm that propels each student forward. We are able to help foster what makes our students different and guide them on how to use it as a force for positive change. It's easy to hold back because of fear or doubt, but we get to help our students march to the beat of their own drums.
When you feel defeated or think that what you say or do doesn't matter, remember that YOU can be a Mr. Jensen!
Together, let's strive for greatness!

Being a teacher is not just a profession or WHAT you do - it's a calling that requires passion, dedication, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive impace on the lives of others. So the next time someone asks you what do you do, please tell them truth and don't sell yourselves short.
Thank you for all that you do for our students, staff, community, and each other!
