New Book Highlights
Down the Hole
Author: Scott Slater
Illustrator: Adam Ming
Published: October 2023
Anansi the Spider meets Jon Klassen in this wickedly witty debut. When a suspiciously polite fox attempts to coax his next meal out of a burrow, he is met with a clever rabbit who has been cooking up a surprise for this very moment! Careful readers may spot what is in store for fox before he does in this darkly funny cautionary tale that roots for the underbunny.
A New Kind of Wild
Author and Illustrator: Zara Gonzales Hoang
Published: April 2020
This sweet author-illustrator debut celebrates imagination, the magic of friendship, and all the different ways we make a new place feel like home.
For Ren, home is his grandmother's little house, and the lush forest that surrounds it. Home is a place of magic and wonder, filled with all the fantastical friends that Ren dreams up. Home is where his imagination can run wild.
For Ava, home is a brick and cement city, where there's always something to do or see or hear. Home is a place bursting with life, where people bustle in and out like a big parade. Home is where Ava is never lonely because there's always someone to share in her adventures.
When Ren moves to Ava's city, he feels lost without his wild. How will he ever feel at home in a place with no green and no magic, where everything is exactly what it seems? Of course, not everything in the city is what meets the eye, and as Ren discovers, nothing makes you feel at home quite like a friend.

Choice Boards
There are a lot of great uses for digital choice boards in the classroom. Choice Boards can be used to inspire teacher lessons or with students as independent learning centers or morning routines to name a few.
You can share choice boards with students easily through Canvas or Seesaw.
- You should make a copy of the choice board link and save it to your drive.
- When you share with students I would encourage you to make the link view only or force to copy so they do not delete your content in the choice board.
**Please note that these Choice Boards are 100% editable if you save your own copy. It is important to check the CCS Reviewed Digital Resources to ensure the resources are on the approved list. The list is updated often, so it is important to check.**
