CMS PEEK AT THE WEEK

Hello, CMS Parents/Guardians! This newsletter is an update of what is going on at CMS this week.

Welcome back from another long weekend! January 2025 is definitely a cold one.

This week the temperatures will be cold, but it may be warm enough to go outside later in the week. To stay warm, students need to dress accordingly and wear a jacket.

• NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 20th!

• Students received a reading Bingo card in their ELA classes last week. Students receive prizes if they get bingos and if they complete a "black out." Students read books that fit the criteria in each square and take/pass an AR test to get a stamp. Please encourage your students to read and win prizes!

• 5th Grade students will have the opportunity to attend a field trip to the Research Institute Health and Wellness Center (Arkansas College of Health Education- Fort Smith) on February 20th. This trip will provide students with a variety of opportunities to learn more about areas such as art, wellness, and cooking skills. Students will even prepare their own lunch! Permission forms will be sent home this week and are due NO LATER than February 13th. Forms will not be accepted after this date.

CMS implemented a Student of the Week award for each grade! This title is awarded based on students voting for the one person they feel best represents their grade that week.

Mrs. Humphrey is excited to pass the Staff of the Week award to Coach Six!

Coach Six does a great job connecting with students and teaching physical education/health. He is very organized and is amazing at helping us with all our assemblies by covering the floors and getting technology ready. He is great to assist us with technical difficulties, and he is always willing to help in any way without hesitation. We can count on Coach Six for a good "dad joke," and he always has a smile and positive attitude! Coach Six is a very valuable member of the CMS team!

The link below will take you to a Google document where pictures are available of items in our lost and found. If your student is missing clothing items, please check out this document to see if you recognize anything. Unclaimed items will eventually be washed and donated!

CHS FCCLA IS SELLING CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES! THEY ARE $10 FOR A HALF-DOZEN, $15 FOR A DOZEN. THEY WILL BE DELIVERED TO STUDENTS ON FEBRUARY 13TH, PAYMENT IS DUE ON FEBRUARY 4TH. THERE ARE ORDER FORMS IN THE CMS OFFICE!
