St. Luke Weekly SMORE
May 8, 2022
Leadership Message
A very Happy Mother’s Day to all our Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties who we are blessed to have in our lives. I hope this day is filled with love. This month provides us with an opportunity to focus on our relationship with the Holy Mother. Have your children say a prayer to Mary this week as she has so much to teach us and endless love to give.
Loving God,
as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children,
so you watch over your Church.
Bless these women,
that they may be strengthened as Christian mothers.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters,
may honour them always
with a spirit of great respect.
We ask this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Have a blessed Mother’s Day!

Break the Rules Day!
On Tuesday, May 10th the students at St. Luke school will be celebrating ”Break the Rules” day! The money raised from this fun event will go towards the Grade 8 Farewell/Year-end activities. This is an optional activity where students (with the help of their parents), choose which rules they would like to break. Payment can be sent to school in a sealed plastic bag labelled with the students name.
Bonus!!! Any class who raises $50 or more will receive an additional outdoor PE class!!
Please fill out and check off the order form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher with payment, by Tuesday,May 10, 2022.
Grade 4-8 Track and Field Day
On Friday, May 13, 2022 we will be hosting our annual Track & Field Meet for students in grade 4-8 at the Strathcona Athletic Park in Sherwood Park (1011 Clover Bar Rd, Sherwood Park). Buses will pick up students from the school at 8:30am and return students by 2:50pm that day.
All students are required to be at school that morning for attendance. As a parent, if you plan on picking your child[ren] up after the event, please send a note to your child's homeroom teacher prior to Wednesday, May 11, 2022. This will eliminate confusion on this day.
Parent Volunteers
We are looking for any available parent volunteers to run both the canteen and various stations during the event. If you are able to donate your time, please fill out the form attached and return to your child's homeroom teacher by Thursday, May 5, 2022.
If you are ordering Pizza for your student for Friday, the forms are due by Monday, May 9th.
