Check for missing assignments
We are getting close to the end of the school year and all the fun activities before the school year ends. Please go on to your Harmony family Access account and see if your child has any missing assignments. Please help ensure your child knows the importance of getting these assignments turned in before the end of the school year and before the fun activities begin. Help them end the new year on a positive note.
Proper Dress Habits - DRESS CODE REMINDER
This is a friendly reminder about the dress code for the last weeks
of school...
Shoes: No flip flops - must have an enclosed toe and a strap across
the heel.
Shirts: Bare midsections, tube tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps, and baggy or alternative-style
dress is not permitted.
Shorts: Bicycle shorts or tight-fitting shorts may not be worn. The principal and staff’s guideline for
length is to have the student stand with their arms hanging limp at their sides. The shorts are
appropriate if they can touch the hem of their shorts without curling their fingers back toward their
wrist.
These policies are in place for the safety of our students. To see the handbook you can click on the Seymour Community Schools Icon
If your child eats school lunch daily, below is the amount needed in their meal account for the remainder of the school year to cover any meals purchased. Please check your child’s meal account and ensure they have adequate funds to cover the meal account until the end of the school year. Any balance on your account will carry over to the 2024 - 2025 school year.
Full Pay Lunch is $25.50 (10 days X $2.55)
The above amount does not include any extras purchased or any current negative balance. All meal accounts need to be paid to a positive balance before Thursday, May 23, 2024 Monitor Account Balance or Make Online Payments: www.mypaymentsplus.com

SAVE TIME AND MONEY AND COMPLETE YOUR 2024/25 BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPLIES SHOPPING IN JUST TWO MINUTES!
The Cortland Elementary back-to-school supply kit program is back and kits are now available for you to order!
Go to www.unitedschoolsupplies.com now and enter our unique School Code, which is 509858. Enter your student’s name and NEXT YEAR’S grade level (to properly label the kit) to add the kit to your shopping cart. Select any optional student accessories you’d like such as backpacks, headphones, lunch bags, water bottles, and food jars and then proceed to secure checkout. It is extremely simple and convenient!
The entire process takes less than 2 minutes and you can do it on your phone or from the comfort of your home. Your student’s supply kit and any optional accessories you ordered will be individually labeled and delivered directly to the school prior to the start of the new school year.
Why order a back-to-school supply kit for your student? Here are some of the top reasons:
- The kit provides the specific items requested by your student’s teachers on the official school supply list.
- The kit includes high quality supplies that help students and teachers succeed in the classroom, typically including products from trusted brands such as Crayola, Elmer’s, Expo, Fiskars, Kleenex, Paper Mate, Sharpie, Sterilite, Ticonderoga and Ziploc.
- Kits are very convenient. You can complete your back-to-school supply list shopping for one or more students on your phone or computer in just a couple of minutes.
- Kits are affordably priced compared to other shopping options (with no additional shipping fees, etc. added to the all-inclusive prices listed below), even if you don’t factor in the time and travel costs required to track down these items on your own. Here are our kit prices by NEXT YEAR’S grade level:
Thanks so much for supporting our students and teachers! We look forward to seeing you and your student next year!
School attendance is very important
One of the key things for you to know is that you will need to call in every time your child is out of school. We do worry about the kids when they are not in school. Your child's absence will be marked as unexcused if the office does not receive a call, note, or email. If your child is out sick and visited the doctor, is late, or absent because of an appointment, please send in, email, or fax the doctor's note to the office so that we have the letter on fi le stating when the child can return. Plus, we can mark the absence accordingly. If a doctor's slip is not turned in, these will be marked as Parental Excused absences. Absences caused by family trips, vacations, and special circumstances require the submission of a Pre-arranged Absence Form before the absence. If a pre-arranged absence form is not filled out before the absence, these will be marked as Parental Excuse absences. If you have questions about the policy, please get in touch with me.
