Highlights of the week
Mr Lisseman - Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a fantastic week it has been at Twickenham School, full of achievements and inspiring moments!
Our Year 11 students are continuing to work extremely hard whilst waiting in anticipation for their mock results next Thursday. Their mock exam papers are currently being marked and finalised by external examiners. We are eagerly anticipating welcoming Year 11 parents and students to our upcoming Parents' Evening on Thursday 5th December. This will be a vital opportunity to discuss progress and outline the steps needed to improve ahead of the next set of mocks in February. To support every student, we are thrilled to announce that each Year 11 student will receive a full set of revision guides on Thursday at the parents evening - just another way we are ensuring they are set up for success.
Tonight marks the final evening of our school production of The Addams Family. The performances this week have been nothing short of spectacular, with students showcasing their talents to a range of audiences. It has been a joy to see such a wide variety of students taking part. These experiences are truly transformational, helping to build confidence, foster teamwork, and create unforgettable memories. Tonight's performance will surely be the pièce de résistance.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff who made this production possible: Ms Green, Ms Aitkin, Ms Gunning, Mr Chanter, Mr Tranter, Ms Gough, Ms OβBrien, Ms Charlton, Ms Bailey, Ms Armstrong, Mr Parrott, Mr Schubert, Ms Mach and many others. Your dedication and creativity have made this production an incredible success. We are so proud of all the students involvedβwell done!
Today, we carried out a lockdown drill, and I must say how impressed I was by the maturity and seriousness shown by both the whole community. The school was completely silent, with lights out, students safely positioned, interactive whiteboards off, and doors locked. The drill lasted for ten minutes while staff thoroughly checked every room. This exercise was a reassuring reminder of how seriously our students take safety procedures. Knowing that we can rely on this level of professionalism in the highly unlikely event of an intruder is deeply reassuring.
Congratulations to our very own Mr Mike Ryan on receiving the Kingβs Coronation Medal, a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding service. His leadership during the Kingβs Coronation, commanding the Queenβs Guard twice, and organising over 700 military personnel during a Royal visit exemplify his dedication and professionalism. A truly remarkable achievement!
Thank you for your continued support as we celebrate our successes and work together to create a safe, enriching, and inspiring environment for all.
Wishing you a warm and wonderful weekend.

We want to reassure you that there is no current threat or imminent danger to the school. This is purely a precautionary exercise designed to ensure that all members of our school community are familiar with the procedures we would follow in the unlikely event of an emergency requiring a lockdown.
Students were briefed in advance to minimise any concerns or anxiety.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe and secure environment for all.
Preparing for Ofsted: Your Feedback Matters
As we prepare for our upcoming Ofsted inspection later this year, your feedback is invaluable in helping us showcase our schoolβs strengths and identify areas for further development.
We encourage you to take a moment to complete the Ofsted Parent View questionnaire. This platform gives you the opportunity to share your views on Twickenham School, from the quality of teaching and curriculum to how safe and supported your child feels here.
