Pint for Kim
The 5th Annual A Pint For Kim Blood Drive & Life Saving Festival is coming up on May 11, and NNHS will once again be hosting this event. The day is more than just a blood drive. It includes live bands, food trucks, a car show, carnival games, and more. The event is free and family friendly.
Click HERE To sign up to donate blood or HERE to sign up to volunteer.
All blood donors and volunteers get 10 tickets to a "Thank You Drawing" with over $30,000 in prizes (including $6,000+ braces from Innovative Orthodontic Centers in downtown Naperville). The organization does not sell tickets since they are not an organization that raises money, so everyone has an equal shot at winning all of these items. A Pint For Kim's efforts focus solely on hosting blood drives and spreading awareness that the largest use of donated blood goes to cancer patients.
This event is held in memory of Kimberley Benedyk Sandford, mom of Ricky Sandford (NNHS '25) and JD Sandford (NNHS '26). After an eight-year battle with cancer, before passing away, Kim asked to have a blood drive instead of a wake; the 2020 event set the state record for largest 1-day 1-location blood drive, a record that A Pint For Kim has broken ever since.
