📙 Fall Book Fair Information
Opens Thursday
The HHMS Fall Book Fair is running from Thursday, 9.19 through Friday, 9.27. Once again this year, we have the ewallet as an option. Parents can load money onto an ewallet (no fees), and students don't have to bring any cash with them to the fair. Click here to watch a video for more information about setting up ewallets (a new wallet must be set up for each fair). You can also shop online at our Book Fair website (Click here).
🍂 Fall Trash Bag Fundraiser
Forms & Money Due September 24
Each student received the information and order forms last week. The Fundraiser will end on September 24. Pickup will be on October 8 inside Entrance O starting at 2:30. We will have only one trash bag sale fundraiser this school year, so be sure you stock up for the spring. Please contact Mrs. Garrison (sgarrison@hhschuskies.org) if you have any questions or would like to place an order.
📝 NWEA Reports Sent Home Last Friday
Your child should have received printouts of the NWEA score reports on Friday. If you have any questions about the scores, please contact your child's math or English teacher.

Safety Drill Notification: Armed Intruder Drill
This week we will be conducting an armed intruder drill with our students and staff. This drill will involve making an overhead announcement about our safety processes if there is a violent intruder at the school. We practice these drills each year per Indiana code. The goal of each drill is to always inform students in a calm and safe way of what to do in case of an emergency situation.

📚 Free Study Tables
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:25-5:00
Our Study Tables program is available again every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:25-5:00. Study Tables is not one on one tutoring, but there is at least one teacher or instructional assistant who supervises and can provide some support. Many students have found this helpful in the past. If you would like your child to participate, he/she should go to the gym to be supervised from 3:00-3:25, then the study tables supervisor will direct the students on where to go for Study Tables (Media Center or the teacher’s classroom). Students must stay for the duration of the study tables unless you provide the office with notification ahead of time that your child needs to be dismissed early. Students may be picked up outside of Entrance O at 5:00.
🚗 Afternoon Parking Lot Volunteers Needed
It takes at least 4 people to help the car rider pick-up process go smoothly each afternoon. If you would like to volunteer to help us for 10-15 minutes after school each day, please contact me. We've had a few great volunteers in the past who really helped us serve our families well with this process. It would be helpful if we had a few more volunteers for the new school year. Thank you for your consideration.

All 8th grade students will meet with a high school counselor in December to create their schedule for their freshman year. Having all 8th grade students complete the Preparing for College and Careers class helps them explore possibilities for their future prior to choosing their schedules.
