Kindergarten Music

It has been a great , and fast, first month in music. Mr. Bentley in PE and I have tried something new this year that has been really great for our youngest friends. Students are now coming to both music and PE for twenty minutes two days in a row, rather than one day for forty five minutes. We have found this to be much more age appropriate for their attention and the retention they are gaining by seeing us two days has been great. I am so excited about how musical our Kindergarteners are becoming. Shinninger and Magnuson have pe and music on A and B days and Fox has music and PE on C and D days. Be sure to wear your tennis shoes.

I hope your students have come home from music days, singing and chanting. I know it is hard to get an answer from a tired 5 or 6 year old when you ask "What did you do today?". These newsletters will give you a glimpse into our music class and allow you to have better conversations with your children.

These 2 apple chants are helping us practice speaking voice and whispering voice. See if your child can perform them for you.

2 Little Apples

Two little apples hanging on a tree.

Two little apples smiled at me.

I shook that tree as hard as I could.
