First Grade
The last principal read aloud was Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall. Working up the courage to take a big, important leap is hard, but Jabari is almost absolutely ready to make a giant splash. Jabari is definitely ready to jump off the diving board. He’s finished his swimming lessons and passed his swim test, and he’s a great jumper, so he’s not scared at all.

Second Grade
Animal Embassy Program
Second grade enjoyed the Animal Embassy program where students learned about animals rescued from the wild, and those who were taken from the wild and could no longer be cared for as pets. Children saw and were able to touch or hold a hedgehog, an armadillo, a skink, an African Bullfrog, a Guardian Gecko, and turtles.
Third Grade
The third grade have been studying Inheritance and Variation of Traits: Life Cycles and Traits. They learned about the life cycle of Butterflies and did daily observations from caterpillars to butterflies. The butterflies arrived out of the chrysalis after our long Memorial Weekend were ready to be released in the Butterfly Garden.

Museum Village
Fourth Graders enjoyed a day-long field trip to Museum Village in Monroe, New York Children experienced the work and life of their ancestors. Museum Village is dedicated to exploring and interpreting 18th and 19th-century life, which coincides with students’ Social Studies curriculum in both fourth and fifth grades. Museum Village inspires an appreciation for the evolution of industry and technology in America. Students were able to see and identify many different artifacts that were the original models of so many of the items we use today, from coffee grinders and telephones, to vacuum cleaners, candles, and brooms. It was a true learning experience and one we hope students will recall in the future.
Fifth Grade
We wish the 5th graders the best of luck as they go to Felix Festa and beyond!!!

STEAM After School
1st Grade Bee Bot Day at Woodglen
The first graders learned about biomimicry during their Enrichment unit.
They focused on how people "biomimic" animals and nature in order to come up with great inventions
that help solve problems in our world.
To culminate, just as they do in each grade level, they learned how to code a robot. They used the Bee Bots (shaped like nature's wonderful bees) and worked on perfecting the robot's movements.
The children coded the Bee Bots to move around a map while completing several coding tasks during their regular class time.
Today, on Bee Bot Day, the children were introduced to new maps and new coding tasks. They were able to transfer their learning to the new challenges and did a tremendous job completing them!!!
Congratulations to our Woodglen first graders for all their great work in Enrichment this year!!! 😃
