Frog Pond Elementary
Volume 6 24 -25
Hello Frog Pond Family!
As a school, we raised $30,763.90!! This is AMAZING!!! The Frog Pond School did an amazing job again with Kids Heart Challenge for the American Heart Association!
Now, March is here and there are already signs of spring in the air and days are getting longer! We are looking to the future here at the Frog Pond School. We have early dismissal days on March 18th through the 20th. Thursday, March 20th will be evening parent/teacher conferences.
In the classroom the students are working hard and having fun. Note that trimester 2 will be ending on March 7th. Please note that Genesis will not be available from March 6th - March 16th. Report cards will be available for parents to view on March 17th. If you have not logged in to Genesis or have questions about logging in, please contact the main office for assistance. This is the best way to stay up to date on your student’s grades and attendance. You can also view emergency contact information for your child and send an update request if necessary.
Wishing you all a wonderful start of spring!
Sincerely,
Thomas P. Denning
Principal
🌟 Students of the Month 🌟
January
Thank you!
The 4th Grade Class would like to thank you for all of your Philly Pretzel orders! We sold 840 pretzels between the three schools!! The money will go towards their upcoming trip to the Jenkinson's Aquarium in March.
Hola from Doña D’Arcangelo
Our phrase of the month, this month is "hasta luego". Third grade is finishing our unit about "La Comida" (food). Ask your student how to say foods from breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also have learned how to say "I'm hungry" and "What would you like to eat?" Fourth grade is finishing a unit about "La Ropa" (clothes). Ask your student how to say shirt, sweatshirt, belt and pants. We have also learned how to describe what we are wearing using the phrase "tengo puesto" (I have on). Everyone has been enjoying Spanish choice time in the beginning of class when we can choose from activities about flags, colors, numbers, using a dictionary or animals. Third and Fourth grade will have Spanish until March 7th. Then it will be Fifth and Sixth grades' turn.
Learning About Colonies
Students in Mrs. Klements Social Studies classes researched the 13 Colonies. Students were responsible for creating a town within one of the 13 Colonies to help them further understand government, economy and daily life. Students then created brochures and presented their colony to the class. Some students even brought in foods that were famous in their colony!
iReady to Learn
Miss Litterio’s math classes completed their winter iReady challenge chart. Student’s colored in a box every time they earned an 100% on an iReady assignment. In total over 150 iReady lessons were completed with an 100%, earning the students a class reward!
Stone Age Technology
Mr. Arnold, a Primitive Skills Specialist, taught the 6th grade students about Stone Age technology and the ancient skills needed for survival.

Kids Heart Challenge
Frog Pond Elementary Exceeds Fundraising Goal for the American Heart Association!
We did it, Frog Pond families! Thanks to your incredible generosity and hard work, we raised over $30,000 for the American Heart Association through the Kids Heart Challenge! This amazing achievement will help support life-saving research and heart health education.
As a reward for reaching our goal, our students will get to silly string some of their favorite staff members—including Mr. Vliet, Mr. Martinez, Mr. Denning, Mr. Nazarok, and five mystery guests! Get ready for a fun and unforgettable celebration!
Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and helped make this fundraiser a huge success. Your kindness and school spirit make Frog Pond Elementary a truly special place!
Cool Kids & Sidekicks Leadership Program
Next month, in partnership with the Municipal Alliance Committee, we will begin the Cool Kids & Sidekicks Leadership Program. Below is a description of the program.
Cool Kids Student Leadership Program is a unique mentoring program employing middle school student leaders (Cool Kids) to mentor elementary school students (Sidekicks) in their district. The Cool Kids are chosen by a school representative (teacher, counselor, or other staff member) and should be selected for their standout academic achievement, extracurricular participation, and most importantly, their character. These Cool Kids are sent into the elementary schools to share their lives and facilitate our program which is geared to helping all students make better, healthier choices that will lead to a positive future. Our belief is that the elementary school students are extremely influenced by the middle school students, a class of individuals they look up to.
