Back to School 24 Newsletter
Welcome back!
I hope this message finds you well and that you had a wonderful summer break filled with relaxation and joy. As we approach the start of the new school year, I wanted to take a moment to welcome you and your children back to school.
This year, we are excited to embark on another journey of learning, growth, and discovery. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where every student can thrive. We are committed to ensuring that your child feels supported, challenged, and inspired every day. We strive to provide an education that sparks curiosity and encourages a love for learning. Our school fully embraces the district's mission " A caring community dedicated to the success and well-being of all."
Communication between school and home is key to your child’s success, and we encourage you to stay connected with us throughout the year, and volunteer when time allows. Your active involvement in your child's education, and in our school, plays an essential role in helping us create a successful and vibrant school community. We aim to keep you informed your child's progress, as well as any activities available to families including PTA meetings, and family nights, among others. Our monthly newsletter will include a list or calendar of "Lakeview Happenings" so you will be aware of different events at school. Newsletters will be sent via our communication app, Parent Square, as well as being posted on Facebook and eventually on our website.
At Lakeview, we believe that every child is unique and has the potential to achieve great things. With your support and our dedicated educators, we are confident this school year will be one of academic and social growth, and we will have some fun along the way.
Again, welcome back to Lakeview! As we embark on the journey that is the 2024-25 school year, we look forward to partnering with our families, fostering a love for learning that will positively shape our students' futures.
Here's to a fantastic school year ahead!

School Spirit Store
Want to show your school spirit, but don't have any way to do it? You are in luck! We have an online school store where you can purchase Lakeview Lion apparel and other items! The items are delivered right to you, and there is a flat delivery fee no matter how much you order. How cool is that! Please use the QR code to access our store and come to school styling in the latest Lakeview wear! Our PTA will hold a sale later in the year slightly different options.
Lakeview's Daily Schedule
See you soon!
Lakeview PTA
Our students need you! Please consider joining our PTA. They do some really fun and important things for our students and school. They sponsor the jogathon, bookfair, movie night, and several other activities that are planned for the year. What is your responsibility, you ask? Perhaps volunteer for one of the events, maybe come to a PTA meeeting (there are only 5 all year), maybe help with popcorn Friday. There are lots of opportunities to help! Why do we pay dues when other schools don't. The dues are paid to the national association to help with for the oversight of our PTA and to hold our officers and school accountable for the funds they raise and see that they are being used appropriately. Please consider joining!
PE
PE may be held outdoors at the beginning of the school year, unless the air conditions or weather prohibit being outside. Please remember to dress appropriately for PE, recess, and the weather conditions.
School footwear
Please remember children run around at recess and during PE. Flip flops and slides are not safe for running. Students' shoes must have a back to hold their shoes securely on their feet. Slippers, flip flops, and slides are not allowed. Thank you.
School Attendance Matters at ALL grade levels!
Pick-up and Drop-off
Thank you to all of those who use our parent pick-up and drop-off area as designed. It is designed to keep our students and staff as safe as possible. The number one crisis in schools is accidents when kids are arriving or leaving school. You can help us keep our students safe by following pick-up protocol. In addition, it is fantastic to model following the rules for your students, so they know the importance of following the rules themselves.
Thank you again for your cooperation!
Please do not park across the driveways of our neighbors.
Please DO NOT pick up your child while parked along Lark, especially in line with the cars waiting to use the lane properly.
Please only turn right into the parent pick up area.
Please respect our crossing guards. They are trying to keep everyone safe.
If you are walking in, please use the crosswalks. We are trying to model safety for our students. Your help is appreciated. Please wait for your child under the tree by the old portable, the main building, and parent pick-up lane.
Please do not use the area in front of the office or along Clover for pick-up and drop-off.
Thank you for helping keep your child and our staff safe.
Parent Volunteers
This year, parent volunteers will be critical to our success, and will help with student safety. Please consider taking some time to volunteer to help. Please don't worry if you cannot be here on a consistent basis. If you can volunteer even for a short time on a rare occasion, we would love to have you and will appreciate any help you can provide.
Ways that you can volunteer:
- Work in classrooms reading to kids, listening to them read, or whatever the teacher needs (with teacher approval and 24-hour notice, please)
- Extra eyes on the playground
- Extra eyes at Parent Pick-up Many of you are here to pick up your kids. Please consider parking in the lot and helping keep order at parent pick up, or grab a stop sign and help in the crosswalk.
- Help in the cafeteria monitoring students (and opening all of those milk cartons, lunchables, and fruit snacks)!
- PTA activities
- Beautify the grounds
- Lots of other opportunities!
Visitors to campus
All visitors to campus, please enter through the front doors and sign in at the office. This includes taking your child to the classroom, bringing things to them during the day, or picking them up after school. Thank you.
