- This week both ELA classes are starting Reading Buddies! We are partnering with 2nd grade classes to help enrich peer to peer reading for both grades. Students began the program on Friday afternoon and loved meeting their 2nd grade buddies!
- Spelling has begun in Ms. Harris' GT ELA class! Each week students will receive a list of words that they will be tested on each Friday and will be doing weekly activities to become familiar with these words. The spelling assignments are due on Friday. I've also provided students with a long list of additional practice ideas that are not mandatory but optional if they would like extra spelling practice.
- We are looking for a few parents in Ms. Harris' GT Math class to help out with Math Stars each week. You would work with a small group of math students from our class for 20-30 minutes on a few math problems. This was a great success last year and is a fun time for the kids to practice their problem solving strategies. I am not setting it up until October but please email me if you are interested/need more information.
