What is BAL-A-VIS-X?
Bal-A-Vis-X is a series of Balance/Auditory/Vision/eXercises of varied complexity all of which are deeply rooted in rhythm. Exercises are done with sand-filled bags and racquetballs.
In distilled essence, Bal-A-Vis-X (BAVX) enables the whole mind-body system to experience the symmetrical flow of a pendulum. BAVX requires focused attention, demands cooperation, promotes self-challenge, and fosters peer teaching. It is school friendly and just plain fun!
The movements can be done by athletes, non-athletes, physically challenged children, and seniors. Anyone can perform these fun moves. Visually and auditory challenged individuals can perform these movements. Improvement is noted in nuances of sound, academic success, visual form perception, and ocular tracking. Behaviorally disordered, attention deficit, learning challenged individuals note that cognitive integration and attention span increase and impulsivity decreases.
Gifted and typical students note increased academic improvement with decreases in stress headaches. Orthopedic patients improve posture, strength, and coordination. Athletes report higher batting averages and better ball handling skills. Challenged students are noted to have improved balance, coordination, and speech. For all - confidence, self-esteem, and learning retention are enhanced.
