During our Family Information Nights, you will learn more about our Small Learning Communities, meet high school staff and listen to detailed information on the enrollment process.
Regardless of whether families of current eighth-graders attend one of these information nights, they must complete a Google form, available at the meetings or from each school’s counselor the next day. 📣 Campus Reminders 📣
- At Washington Manor, we are committed to promoting healthy eating habits and physical activity for our young wolves. Recently, we have noticed students selling snacks and candies on campus. We would like to remind everyone that selling food items on school grounds is not allowed. Parents and guardians, please take a moment to encourage your child to make healthier snack choices and to remind them that selling food at school is prohibited.
Please remember that Washington Manor hosts cell phone free classes. During class times we ask that students turn off their cell phones, so that they can focus on learning. Please call our main office at 510-317-5501 to get a message to your student.

Caregivers may excuse absences by calling the Attendance Line: 510-317-5599. Families have 72 hours to clear absences. If an absence is not cleared within 72 hours, the absence will no longer be excused. Only parents/guardians can excuse absences.
ATTENDANCE LINE
When excusing an absence, families should call and leave a message on the Attendance Line: 510-317-5599. When leaving a message please state the student's name or ID #, the reason for the absence, and the name of the parent/guardian calling.
ABSENCE ERRORS
If you receive a call, email, or text about a student's absence that you believe to be in error, please have the student see Ms. Kelly in the Main Office within 72 hours of the recorded absence.
COVID Protocols (as of 1/29/24)
- Stay home if you have COVID-19 symptoms until you have not had a fever for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication AND your other COVID-19 symptoms are mild and improving.
- Mask when you are around other people indoors for 10 days* after you become sick or test positive (if you have no symptoms). You may remove your mask sooner than 10 days if you have two negative tests at least one day apart.
- Avoid contact with people at higher risk for severe COVID-19 for 10 days*. Higher-risk individuals include the elderly and those who live in congregate care facilities.
- Seek treatment. If you have symptoms, contact a healthcare provider as soon as you test positive, especially if you are at higher risk for severe COVID-19.
Important Learning to be done!
In our efforts to curb tardies, we continue to enforce the following rules in order to promote an effective learning environment:
- 10/10 Rule: Students will not be allowed out of class in the first and last ten minutes of class. This is to ensure that they are getting set up for success, have the opportunity to write in their planner, and complete warm up activities. The last ten minutes ensure they get the homework and any last minute announcements.
- Teacher Dismisses the Class, Not the Bell: Students are often anxious to get out to break and transition into their new classes. Students need to remain seated until their teacher dismisses them. This will have the added safety benefit of reducing the number of false fire alarms as students have less access to the pull stations.
- Hall Passes: When students leave the classroom, they are required to have a current hall pass that marks the time they left and the location to which they are going.
While these are all procedures WMMS staff are working together to implement, reviewing them with your student will be very helpful. We thank you for your support.
