On September 25, 1780: Over 1,100 volunteer soldiers muster at Pharoah Cobb’s plantation near Sycamore Shoals under the command of Isaac Shelby and John Sevier to form the “Overmountain Men” military force that would go on to win the Battle of King’s Mountain and turn the tide of the American Revolutionary War in the South.
