WELCOME COACHES!
Watervliet is thrilled to welcome Coach Tackett as the new Head Boys' Track Coach. Coach Weber returns to lead the Girls' Track team as Head Coach, while Coach Irmen will assist both the Boys' and Girls' Track teams. Coach Eastman will take the reins as the new Head Football Coach, leading the Panthers into the upcoming fall season.
CHECK OUT ADVANCED ART!
Students in Advanced Art just completed a project centered on the expressive power of line. The process began with listening to music and translating its rhythms and emotions into lines. We then explored examples of line in African art and examined how 20th-century artists like Paul Klee and Picasso were influenced by these African line works. For their final piece, each student chose an animal as their subject and was required to incorporate at least 10 different motifs, while using both positive and negative space to create depth.
OPPORTUNITY FOR SENIORS!
CONGRATULATIONS WRESTLERS!
LAST Saturday the Men's and Women's wrestlers joined together as one team to participate in the Tim Horn Invite, a team style tournament at Holland High School. The Panthers were 1-4 in team duals, there were some strong individual performances.
Senior Luke Isbrecht was 5-0, Freshman JT Isbrecht was 3&2, and Senior Braizen Robart had 2 pins on the day.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT--MR. ARTER!
I was born in Benton Harbor, went to grade school in Niles, and ultimately graduated from High School at Portage Central.
I earned a BA in English/Journalism from Columbia College. My 1st Masters is from Northeastern Illinois in Special Education. My 2nd Masters is from American in Educational Leadership. I have earned credits from various universities and colleges such as Michigan State, Cal State and the University of Michigan. I'm still in college, currently enrolled in the Talent Together program through the state of Michigan.
I have 4 children. Jonny, 19 (who is in college himself), Ava, 17 junior, Cormac, 14 8th grade, and Cash (Nicasio), age 2. Take note of the name of my first born and young Cash's.
I work as a Special Education Teacher, but my subject speciality is mathematics. I've tried to make myself available for after school homework help and tutoring, summer school, etc... I could possibly see myself coaching again if we were to offer Tennis at Watervliet.
I like to cook, read, workout and ride motorcycles. Without a doubt my #1 hobby and passion is writing and creating music. In the last 5 years I've had 19 albums come out. It's all instrumental music and my next two albums will be available worldwide the Friday before the Super Bowl.
Watervliet has been a very welcoming place to have the opportunity to work for. I'm here as a Panther, by chance, as I wasn't looking for a job at the time I was offered a job here and for that I have been extremely fortunate. I find the faculty and administration here welcoming and supportive. But, the students, above all, are what make this job something I plan to strive to do better at. I've been so surprised and overwhelmed by the overall tenacity and perseverance of Panther Nation.

Dear Senior Families:
Mr. Coburn, our certified FAFSA expert, will be meeting with your Senior in the next month to ask the following questions: (1) where have you applied? (2) where have you been accepted? (3) do you have your FSA ID?
If you would like to meet with Mr. Coburn to get assistance in completing the FAFSA, please reach out to him at christopher.coburn@watervlietps.org. He is available during and after the school day to meet with any parent who would like assistance.
It only takes 30 minutes to complete the FAFSA once you have all of the needed information: FSA ID for both parent and student, 2023 tax information, total current account amount for both parent and student, net worth of any businesses, SS # for both parent and student, and a list of all of the schools to which your Senior has applied.
It is our goal that 100% of the Class of 2025 completes the FAFSA this year. Whether your child is headed to post secondary training or not, plans can change over the summer. We want your child to be ready for whatever comes their way in the Fall of 2025 with a completed FAFSA! THANK YOU !
