A Message From Your Principal - Mr. Boshart

Hello there MAS Families,

As we gear up for State Testing, this is a great time for us to remind ourselves of the importance of attendance! We will be setting up mock testing on Friday April 26th and Monday April 29th with MSSA ELA testing on Tuesday April 30th for grades 5-8, MSSA Math testing on Wednesday May 1st for grades 5-8, and ASR Science testing on Thursday May 2nd for grades 5 and 8.

Attendance matters! We will be arranging a parent meeting for 7th grade families on Wednesday April 24th from 4:45-5:45 PM During this meeting, we will provide an overview of the current curriculum and activities in our 7th classes, as well as upcoming testing. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to meet your children's teachers, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into their educational journey.

We appreciate your support and partnership this year and we are looking forward to a strong finish to the school year with your students! Thank you!

ELA on 4/30/24

Math on 5/01/24

Science on 5/02/24 (grades 5 and 8 only)

Average Daily Attendance (ADA) Update

Our Goal for ADA is 95%. When students in a grade level meet the goal for a full week, they earn a dress down day the following Monday. When they reach 100% attendance on any day, they earn a dress down the following day!

Year to Date (YTD) ADA for each grade level is the following:

5th - 93%

6th - 92%

7th - 91%

8th - 91%

9th - 93%

All of Secondary - 92%

All grade levels are below our goal. Help your students to be present and on time EVERY day so they are ready for state testing! Ninth grade, remember that attendance affects credits to graduate!

We will begin a popsicle incentive for cohorts that have 95% attendance or better to help celbrate those cohorts that are meeting the mark!

5th Grade Scholar of the Week - Melissa Prieto

Melissa is super focused and holds herself to high expectations. When she is struggling she always asks for help. Overall, a wonderful student!

6th Grade Scholar of the Week - PJ Morales

PJ has increased in his participation in class and has started to really shine. He is an integral part of his team in the group project in ELA.

7th Grade Scholar of the Week - Jorge Miramontes

Jorge has stepped up as an exemplar scholar, completing his work and pushing himself to be a leader in the classroom!

Haley is a model student who always completes her work, participates in class, and is respectful to all!

Zach always gives 100% effort even if he does not understand fully. He never gives up and is always a model of the expectations in the classroom. He is always respectful and kind to his peers and teachers.
