Counselor's Corner
School Counseling
What a beautiful school year it was here at Banks. It is time to celebrate our accomplishments and hard work.
During the month of May, we will begin preparing for transitions to the next grade level. Each grade will participate in counseling activities that will help them get ready to level up! 5th graders will focus on middle school transition and preparing to switch classes. Students who are not staying at Banks for 6th grade will explore alternative middle school models.
All students will reflect on their social emotional journey this year and set goals for next year. We are also celebrating our successes this year and setting goals for next year.
To request assistance or schedule family or one-on-one counseling, please email me or call 520-908-5762.

Bully-Free Common Practices in School Counseling
We continue to practice community building circles and restorative circles regularly. Through these practices, students learn how to express their feelings, opinions and ideas. These skills are necessary for cooperating and communicating in diverse settings. These common practices help students solve peer conflicts, develop social skills, and learn the value of assertiveness. Communicating with peers in a safe setting allows students to develop a sense of empathy for others. Having empathy for others and owning a sense of assertiveness for one’s own needs are two important factors in a bully-free environment.
Coming up at Banks
We are celebrating Promotions on May 22. Kindergarten will be at 10:00 and 6th grade will be at 1:30. We're so proud of our Bobcats!
