This newsletter was originally going to be where I gave you specifics about what "blended" and "remote" instruction were going to look like beginning September 28. Then...POW!!! Governor Cooper's announcement on Thursday giving the option for all K-5 students to return to school without the 50% capacity restriction happened. As of today, we don't know what our school board will decide for us to do or when. They are meeting soon and I will certainly let you know what their decision is and how it will impact our situation at Bethel Elementary. As always, I couldn't ask for a more supportive community and group of parents. You all are wonderful and we appreciate you very much!

If the school board decides that all students can come back in person without the 50% capacity restriction and that changes your preference for their instruction, I need to know ASAP.

In other words, if you chose blended (in person) but this decision would change your mind to remote.

OR

If you initially chose remote and this would change your mind to in person learning.

If you need to change your child's method of receiving instruction if the school board aligns with Gov. Cooper's recommendation, please email me at hhollingsworth@haywood.k12.nc.us. Please include your child's name and grade level, your name, and either remote or in person.

The sooner I have all the correct numbers, the better I can plan which teachers are teaching remote classes and which are teaching in person.
