Greetings Rock View Families,
As we approach the winter break, I want to take a moment to wish all of our Roadrunner families a joyful and restful holiday season. Winter break begins on December 23 and runs through January 1. I hope you enjoy this special time with family and friends, making memories and staying cozy in the cold weather. As a Florida girl, I’ll be crossing my fingers for some snow to add to the winter magic!
We look forward to welcoming students back to Rock View Elementary on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Please note that this will be our final bulletin of the year; the next one will come to you in 2025!
As we prepare to enter a new year, I am excited about the opportunity to continue our work together at Rock View. The Maryland School Report Card for the 2023-2024 school year was recently released, and our school earned 3 out of 5 stars. While this shows areas where we can improve, we remain committed to focusing on high-quality instruction and ensuring our students have the tools they need to succeed. Together, we will continue to work towards growth because we know Rock View is a special place for students to learn and thrive.
Our theme this year, “The View is Better from Here,” reminds us of the incredible potential within our school community. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Here’s to a bright and successful new year ahead!
Warm regards,
-Ms. Batista
Lost and Found (Claim by Dec. 20th)
This is the final week to claim items from our Lost and Found! Any unclaimed items will be donated during winter break. Parents are welcome to stop by during the school day to check the clothing racks for items their child may have left behind. Don’t miss this chance to reclaim lost belongings!
Maryland School Report Card 2023-2024
Overall school star ratings are based on a combination of academic performance and school quality indicators designed to assess and differentiate schools, ensuring the needs of all students are being met. Academic indicators contribute 65% of the total possible points, while school quality and student success indicators account for the remaining 35%. The total possible points can vary by school and year, with ratings determined by the percentage of total points earned. Additionally, each school is assigned a percentile rank, which is reported based on the grade levels served (Elementary, Middle, and/or High School).
