A Note from Dr. Neubeck
It was a wonderful Homecoming week. The weather was perfect, the students were showing off their school spirit all week, and the community tailgated in numbers and packed the stadium to support our athletes. New people to our community certainly would have felt the support and spirit of our community. It was so great to see the students and staff in all schools doing dress up days, seeing the different pepfests in each schools, which included staff singing with talented student musicians, and watching the homecoming parade on Friday afternoon.
John Millea, a writer for the Minnesota State High School League, travels the state covering games and events. He was at the tailgating and football game on Friday night. He was very impressed with the students and people in the Byron Community. You can follow him on Twitter (@MSHSLjohn). In 2021, the community voted for a bond referendum to upgrade our facilities and be able to give the best experience possible to our students, staff and community. In one of John's posts, he wrote "I can't say that I have seen a more spectacular high school stadium than this showplace in Byron. Well done, Bears!" Thank you Byron Community!
I also want to thank the staff and students in each building who worked very hard at making this week a success. They put in a lot of time and effort, beyond the school day, to make sure all the events were well organized. I want to thank the staffs who jumped right in to participate in dress up days and pepfests because those are the things that students will remember and it adds so much to the spirit of the week. This was a great week to be a Byron Bear.
