PASE (Premier Animal Science Event) - UNL East Campus
Last Call!!
PASE- Nebraska 4-H Premier Animal Science Event features a variety of state-level animal science contests. The two-day event (June 20-21, 2024) is held annually at the UNL East Campus Nebraska Animal Science Complex in Lincoln. Youth explore issues related to the animal industry, discover college and career opportunities, and work with other youth from across the state. Youth have the opportunity to participate in livestock contests that do not require owning or exhibiting a live animal, including livestock, meat, and poultry judging, as well as livestock skill-a-thon, and livestock quiz bowl. NEW in 2024, the addition of the Companion Animal Challenge and Animal Welfare Judging Contest! Youth can participate in more than one contest or event as their schedule allows. In addition, youth will have chances to explore the University of Nebraska–Lincoln East Campus, stay in the dorms, meet with faculty members and current college students, and have fun with friends!
Kathy will drive a van load to Lincoln and everyone will stay in East Campus dorms. We will drive to Lincoln the afternoon of June 19. Therefore, youth must be at least 12 years old or older and be enrolled in Frontier county 4-H by May 30. (Be sure all medical information is completed on v2.4honline.com)

If interested in representing Frontier County, let Kathy or Mandy know by AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (Tomorrow would be great!). We will need to know what contests youth want to compete in and if any adults would like to travel as a sponsor.
Farm Service Agency Loan
The Farm Service Agency (FSA) makes loans to youth to establish and operate agricultural income-producing projects in connection with 4-H clubs, FFA and other agricultural groups. Projects must be planned and operated with the help of the organization advisor, produce sufficient income to repay the loan and provide the youth with practical business and educational experience. The maximum loan amount is $5,000.
Youth Loan Eligibility Requirements:
1) Be a citizen of the United States
2) Be 10 years to 20 years of age
3) Comply with FSA’s general eligibility requirements
4) Conduct a modest income-producing project in a supervised program of work as outlined above
5) Demonstrate capability of planning, managing and operating the project under guidance and assistance from a project advisor. The project supervisor must recommend the youth loan applicant, along with providing adequate supervision.
