CMEA Weekly
September 5th, 2024
Join us for our first PTO meeting of the year!
We hope lots of you will join us tomorrow, September 6th, at 8:45am in the CME cafeteria for our very first PTO meeting of the year! We will be discussing the Fall Grant requests from the teachers and staff, so this is your opportunity to see what sort of things the PTO spends your money on, and have your voice heard if you have thoughts! We will also be discussing, and finalizing, what we would like our Boosterthon funds to go towards this year, so we definitely want to hear your opinions on that. AND, Ms Muller has graciously agreed to have her 6th grade music class attend and give a short performance for us! Breakfast snacks and coffee will be provided. We hope to see you there!
In N Out Truck Spirit Night September 27th at 5:00pm
We love the opportunity to raise funds for the school at the same time as making dinner easy for your family, and on September 27th we get to do just that, with the In ‘N Out food truck at CME! The truck will be here from 5-6pm, and will offer a burger, chips and a soda (grilled cheese also available upon request) for $7 per ticket. There is one stipulation though - we need to pre-sell 200 tickets before September 24th. If you are interested in purchasing tickets for your family, please fill out THIS FORM as soon as possible so that we can get a count, and then we will collect money once we know for sure that we hit the 200 mark. The best part about this truck is that they let us keep 75% of the money that we collect, so tell your family and friends!!
Donuts With Grownups Event October 4th at 8:00am
We are excited to bring back one of our most popular events next month, Donuts With Grownups! Mark your calendars and keep an eye out for an RSVP form so we know how many donuts to bring. Allergen friendly donuts will be an option, as well!
Mrs Burke’s Art Supply Wishlist
Our wonderful new art teacher, Karli Burke, spent many hours over the summer cleaning out her new art room, and would love to update some of the supplies. If you are looking for a way to give back to the school, please check out her Amazon wishlist and help her re-stock the room. Our kids are in for an awesome year of art class this year!
Preschool Wishlist
The preschool teachers are looking for some gently used, good condition floor puzzles, and a tricycle to add to their classrooms this year. If you have any that you are willing to part with, please email the PTO at cmeapto@gmail.com.

New Art Classes From Ms Tauro!
When our wonderful art teacher left at the end of last year to pursue her dream of opening an art studio, she promised that she would let us know when her classes were up and running, and she has kept her promise! Ms Jen Tauro’s new art studio, Just Artin’ Around, is open in Castle Rock and she is offering some really fun classes! Check out these links to join one!

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students): Ongoing
Watch D.O.G.S. is a program that gives dads the opportunity to spend either a half or whole day in the building with their children. You will help in classrooms and go to lunch and recess with your child.
The purpose of the program:
- To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is essential.
- To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. All dads are encouraged to be a Watch D.O.G.S. Dad at least once a year.
KING SOOPERS CARDS
One of our biggest and easiest fundraisers has proven to be King Soopers Cards. In just over a year our total donation received is in excess of $15,000. If you haven’t registered your rewards number (phone number) yet, please do so, it’s quick and easy and a great way to earn funds for our school. This money helps us to pay for teacher and school grants and host some of our events.
