Heroes being Heroes...
We wanted to share an email from a parent who observed a few Heroes being a Hero to a fellow student. We are proud about moments like this and want to thank our families for raising such great kids. Respect and empathy starts at home and we are grateful for our Red Hawk Community!!!
Parent Email:
"Good morning!
I just wanted to give a shoutout to some true hero's who helped my little guy this morning.
My Tker Tyler had two bags of coins ready to drop in the money war bins. He was so excited that he had to walk holding the bags all the way to school. Unfortunately, when we reached the school, one of the bags split open and all his coins fell to the pavement. About 7 of your amazing students quickly helped him pick up all the coins and made sure he had received each one back. It was so special to see the amount of thoughtfulness and integrity from his peers. Another example of why we're proud to be part of this Redhawk school and community!"
Attendance Trophy
Did you know that the district has a GIGANTIC attendance trophy that travels to the school with the best attendance? We want this trophy at Red Hawk! Please send your child to school whenever possible and safe to do so so we can bring the trophy where it belongs!!!

✅ Attendance
What if my student has to be out of school for an extended period of time?
If your child must go out of town for one to fifteen days, you may request that your child is signed up for an Short-Term Independent Study Agreement. By enrolling in Short-Term Independent Study, and your student has the work completed upon return, your child would be marked present for those days they were gone.
What is Chronic Absenteeism and why is it important?
Students are considered chronically absent when they miss 10 percent or more of school for any reason. Left unaddressed, chronic absence can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by Grade 3, reaching grade-level standards in middle school, and graduating from high school.
California Education Code (EC) Section 60901(c)(1) defines it as “a pupil who is absent on 10 percent or more of the school days in the school year when the total number of days a pupil is absent is divided by the total number of days the pupil is enrolled and school was actually taught in the regular day schools of the district, exclusive of Saturdays and Sundays.”
